ilikemyusername
So... not supposed to have to acclimate tangiers lucid eh?WRONG!I've had this batch sitting open for 22 days now and my patience has run out.its in the oven at 250' and when it starts smelling like rasberries i'll take it out.Until then its going to sit in there and think about what its done. This shit aint cheap.let the flaming begin, i don't care, 230+ grams of ass flavored shisha isn't something i care to have laying around anyway. shalowlow
You can always call the number on the packaging and tell him your issue. Eric has a great passion for his craft, so I doubt he or anyone else working there is going to give you a hard time.

ilikemyusername
it's not even close to dried out, i've had it sitting in an open container on my hookah shelf stirred three or more times a day for more than 3 weeks. its lucid rasberry and it still smells exactly like the passionfruit i bought when the lucid line was first introduced. and my passionfruit ended up being tossed because it never smelled or tasted anything like passionfruit. apparently florida air conditioned climate does not like this stuff. mattarios2
im with you ... ilikemyusername .... tang has never gone well for me with the exception of 1 or 2 flavors out of about 11 or 12.let us know how the oven dealio works.
erufiku
Huh? You had it acclimate for 3 weeks and now you're baking it? Only Lucid flavor I had was Horchata, was good to go straight out of the package.
ilikemyusername
okay, i just went outside to do some laundry and when i came back my whole house smelled sweet, not like rasberry, but sweet. So i pulled it out of the oven and guess what, the shisha itself seems to have NO smell to it, so i'm letting it cool and we'll see what happens. i wonder if its possible that florida is just too damn humid. Hobbs
I'm right above you in Virginia, where it's still humid but not quite as humid as FL I believe... however I've tried every lucid flavor and they've all be fine out the bag. Maybe your house isn't maintaining at least a somewhat steady climate due to AC and whatnot.
ilikemyusername
its a possibility hobbs, but even still by now i would think it would at least remotley smell like rasberry.
Hobbs
Well if you decide to purchase some more here's what I do with my lucid and I haven't had any problems in about 2 kilos worth.I open it up and stick it in a plastic container as soon as it gets in, stir it up and seal the lid. The only time I even think about opening it is when I'm packing my bowl.
JDHarding
I don't think I even need to read the replies to know which flavor.. let me guess.. Blue Gumball or Raspberry? If you get a smelly batch, the smell most likely WON'T get much better. I've had mine for a month and it still smells like soy sauce. But it smokes pretty good. The problem with BGB is.. because it's such a mild flavor, the soy or burnt taste will overpower the raspberry taste. BGB isn't really a great Tangiers flavor anyway. Neither is Raspberry. There's something about their raspberry flavoring that's too mild and doesn't cover up that stench like the other flavors do. It's just too mild. Maybe the Tangiers guys could double-up on the flavoring for that one.
inino
ok.... umm baking it in the oven will do nothing beneficial to it, becuase oven humidity is far different from the humidity outside. probably even make it worse. and lucid does NOT need to be acclimated for more than 1 day no matter what state you live in. its all about your heat and i think you are messing it up somewhere. 230g? so you smoked 1 bowl and it was bad so you let it sit out for 3 weeks? you probably just dont like the flavors or arent getting the packing and heat right. ya its lucid so its not as hard as og, but it still takes some practice to get it good. Hojo
My OG BGB has been outside acclimating for about a month and a half now. I gave up on it a long time ago; it just out here now for general mockery. It still smells bad, but now it's less "soy sauce" and more "old vomit." ColibriDon
Boy do I understand your problems! I had the same problem here in Florida, an inconsistent humidity is your worst nightmare for acclimation. And yes, you do acclimate Lucid if you're on the other side of the damn country from California with crazy changing climates like we have in Florida. What seems to cause these issues with Tangiers is a lack of constant climate. At my apartment in Orlando where I usually live, our A/C is broken so the climate inside changes as frequently as it does outside. This leads to perma-shocked Tangiers that throws harsh, nasty smoke out of fear. Once I come to my other house in Tampa with my family, however, I let my Tangiers acclimate in the constant climate of our house. Then the Tangiers calms down and gives off good quality smoke. The catch? You have to smoke it inside. It has to be smoked in the environment it's acclimated in. I think that's written right on the side of the package. haha Good luck. I know this stuff can be frustrating. Hope this helps a little.

speel
It could also be the inconsistency of the tobacco.
