Is This A Good Hookah, Or Do I Need To Get Another One

Recommended Posts

This is the current hookah I own. It's called a "Hookah Junior classic" and it's from the Kingofhookah.com website.

I have 2 types of shisha from them: Honey (a decent shisha for a n00b like me simply because I don't have enough experience in other shishas) and Guava (tasted like a hot shit sandwich with a slice of onion). I bought it from a local Indian restraunt and hookah vendor. The other shisha brands and flavours I have are :
Al Waha- Lemon (works well with the King honey flavour)
Fantasia - Pink Lemonaide (yummy)
Fantasia- Blueberry (nasty)
Pharohs- Extreme Strawberry- (my very first strawberry flavour)
Soex -banana, watermelon, peach, and something else (yes, I went there, but as god as my witness I will never try that shit again)
Hydro Black Label- Wildberry herbal (see explanation for Soex)

Just ordered:
Al Waha- Cocoanut
Al Fakar- Grape
Roman- Double apple, Ivory Coast and Strawberry

Any thoughts?

AF is hit and miss now...

tried Romman Sweet Start and Ivory Coast...not bad. Ivory Coast is a decent grapefruit flavor...but, that's an expensive tobacco...

either way, its good to buy several brands...you're bound to find something you like. i'd suggest Nakhla and Tangiers Lucid...

I've been browsing the forum quite a bit and a lot of folks like Tangiers and Nakhla. Is Tangiers Lucid another type by Tangiers, or is "Lucid" a flavour?

Should work alright for your purposes. Don't expect it to last longer than 6 months - it looks like it's made of aluminum.

It's funny you should mention that. I was washing my hoses last weekend, and I think there's a hole where the handle meets the hose. Either that, or the glue has come undone due to using warm water. No worries though, I also placed an order for another set of hoses, since I'm not too fond of the ones included with the hookah. Another question. Is condensation at the base normal? I originally suspected a crack in the base, but I've inspected it each time I clean it, and I've found nothing. I've also wiped down my vase whenever I fill it. I've also been very careful with it, so... Idk.

And yes. It's made out of aluminum. What metal should a quality hookah be made out of? Edited by thatonethere

Ivory Coast is the shiznit. It makes my mouth water when I smoke it, best flavour by Romman imo.

Nice! Now only if my order would get to me faster... Hopefully it'll be here this weekend.

Tangiers Lucid is a different line of Tangiers. Each has its own set of flavors. Just like Nakhla and Nakhla Mizo

Lucid is the lower nicotine line of Tangiers, the washed line. Less acclimation time needed, a bit more forgiving on packing and heat management...it's better off to start on Lucid than OG, imo...especially if you're new to hookah...

Truth here. Don't wash your hoses. Just blow them out when you're done smoking.

That sucks...Oh well. I've got to learn somehow. Thanks for the tip. Will blowing out the hoses affect future smoke sessions, meaning the build up leaving whatever flavour you smoked remaining in the hose? Maybe I'll invest in some shisha filters for my hoses also.

It sounds like one of these days I'll definitely need an upgrade. This time I'm getting one with washable hoses, and NOT aluminum. Plus it doesn't hurt to have a classy base, and a wind cover.

some flavors will tend to ghost...as crappy as it sounds, you can either invest in a washable hose or get 3-4 non-washable hoses. there are some flavors that will leave your hookah and hose smelling and tasting like what you just smoked i.e. mint, cinnamon or some other strong flavors...this is called ghosting...

i've never experienced permanent ghosting, but i've had a few flavors stick in my hose for a day or two...most recently, was nakhla peach. i just blow it out...hang it up somewhere and wait a few days...this usually gets rid of the ghost on its own. it's never a problem for me since i have almost 20 hoses. but, i usually have hoses hanging up everywhere anyways.

if you need a few non-washables, pay for shipping and i can send you some of my hoses. most haven't been used...i got mostly standard KM hoses, btw.

another way, which seems to work for me is to smoke Tangiers...yep, i know weird...but, if i smoke Tangiers...the first 3-5 minutes, i can taste the old flavor but then it goes away...after the sessions, i blow out the hose and its ready within a few hours...

i remember Eric saying something about his tobacco preventing or removing old flavors...then again, i may have just imagined that somewhere... Edited by Arcane

Hmmm. I already have some new hoses coming my way sometime this week. I guess I should have started this thread a bit sooner... Anyway, I usually smoke twice a week, so I guess my new hoses will be ok for the most part. I'll be on the lookout for some Tangiers the next time I visit a local smoke shop, if the price is right. If not, then I'll buy online.
