Hookah Diffuser

I just ordered a hookah diffuser from H-S this week and I was wondering what to expect as far as performance. I've seen people talking bout home-made ones but havn't seen too much talk about the ones H-S has.

I own one. On my old egyptian, I couldnt fit the large one. Only the small diffuser would fit.

I havent tried it on my Mya yet. I really need to.

I had a plastic Heba filter on my Egyptian 34-inch, it worked well!
They include a couple of different sizes in the box. It reduces the splash factor too.
It got bumped off the stem in transit one night.....

I have never bought one but use them all the time. I take a female mouth tip, drill holes through it and stick it in the bottom of my stem. To me it helps alot and compares to all the other ones out there as well.

I have one and like it quite a bit. cuts the noise down alot and I think makes the smoke tastier for some reason. I had an Al Waha coconut that was just odd tasting to me and then when I added the diffuser it got a bit better. had to remove the inside smaller diffuser though because it got too hard to pull, don't know if anyone else could keep it on. Also make sure your water level is above the top of the diffuser, though seems ridiculously high, it works well and isn't hard to pull.

Hey Rayver,

We use the diffuser every once in a while. It does a fantastic job at cutting the noise which is nice when you're smoking at night and not trying to wake anyone up. I personally don't feel a difference in the actual smoke quality or thickness, and since I like the bubbling noise, I don't use it that often.

If you prefer a quite smoke, then I highly recommend this item, but if you’re thinking about buying it for increased smoke quality or thickness, don't waste your money.

I did the ghetto diffuser with the bend-y straws and works like a charm. Quiets the whole thing down and to me it feels like the smoke is a LITTLE smoother. Other than that, they main purpose is to quiet the bubbling down cause at times when someone is ripping the pipe, it can drown out a surprising amount of noise

i cut a bit off the end of my vinyl tube i used for a hose mod and used that. its great and i never smoke without it now. less water = more room for smoke

Just go to a walgreens or cvs and buy some bendy straws. Much cheaper and easy to use.

i just drilled holes directly into the bottom of my stem. works fine.

i recently did a thread on the heba diffuser, search that for some good threads, i've been considering getting one myself, but all in due time. I know some people who swear by them, some who are indifferent, andsome who dislike them, I think it's all personal

I've made diffusers out of a few basic items. Film canisters, small plastic bottles, and a rocketwidget from a bottle of Guiness. The theory of operation is the same, drill a hole for the stem, drill small holes, diffuse the smoke.

I've found that it makes the smoke cooler and smoother, one downfall is you loose a lot of the traditonal hookah bubble noise. Either way, I see diffusers as a positive add-on for my hookahs.

i just ordered one along with a box of three kings. you can also make some horizontal cuts in your downstem (have done that, works good)
about a year ago a member named lakemonster made a how-to about it, i will see if i can find it.

I have two, and a few times I've made them with lint screens and zip ties, but I use them only with single hose hookahs, because I find with 2 or 3 hose hookahs they restrict the draw WAY to much. They also take away that neat bubbly noise, as mentioned by hookahlife.

a diffuser can be nice when you`re watching a movie, so that the bubbling sound doesn`t distract you.
