sss8789
I pack the bowl all of the way to the top and poked holes it the foil with a tooth pick and I made a foil ring and put that on the bowl and put foil on top of that and again poled holes in the foil with a tooth pick. Anyway it works no harshness, took about two minutes to make, and the smoke is flavorful and thick. It is my new way to pack my mya bowl.

dyzel
QUOTE (sss8789 @ Dec 26 2007, 09:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>my camera battery is dead but I will charge it up now and take some picturesIf you need someone to second you, I will!!! I just tried this out, and it seems to be working ok...There is no harshness, but i notice that it takes quite a few long drags to get the smoke to start collecting...Instead of making a foil ring everytime, you could try making a more permanent "cap" like using the metal tops off glass jam jars and the such, poking holes into that. the metal is fairly thicker, and less conductive than foil is. This will allow for even and slower burning of the shisha...Just a thought Will try it out and get back to you!!!

sss8789
All of these were taken after I smoked Here is the ring, just folded up the foil and make it into a ringThe foil around it is to make sure the coals don't fall off.after about 40-50 minutes of smoking it was still pretty moist (AF cherry)

EternalSoil
there have been threads on this before. it has been decided that, yes, it does work, but the extra time making it (even though not long) isnt worth it for alot of us. you are better off learneing to manage your heat better, which can take some time, but once you get it right you will be having great smokes all the time with little effort! willy916
I have a metal steel ring that i put on top of my first foil, that way i dont have to keep making foils. The ring foil is reusable anywayz. this really works!

(seriously, not tryin 2 be an ass)I have not used the 40mm ones, but with 33mm QL's i use 3 halves and arange them with the middle part (flat) towards the middle of the bowl and make a triangle. with the 40mm i would think that using 3 1/4 pieces would probably work arange in a tirangle. then when those are done, the next 3 1/4 pieces should be places where the first three were not. EternalSoil
i break 33mm ones in to 2 pieces. so 2 disks give me 4 pieces and i use 3. if the 1/4 pieces dont work you might try halves.
