I've used both bowls and personally I like the vortex. Gave my funnel bowl to my buddy. IMO the vortex gives lots of flavor not that the funnel didn't, but the vortex just seemed all around better and easier to use and maintain.

If you are using a real Tangiers Phunnel bowl then you cannot go wrong. On numerous occasions, I have set up two Khalil Mamoon hookahs. One had a Tangiers Phunnel and one had the Vortex. For finer cut shishas like JM's Hookah, I do prefer the vortex. However, for almost every other brand of shisha, I use a medium Tangiers Phunnel Bowl. They are also less maintenance than a Vortex bowl. All that said, Vortex bowls are my second choice for bowls.
