You know you're a nerd when you see "Go To Setup" and think "what are they programming?"

I second HookahBot. Also, whenever somebody is getting banned, it should be done by Chuck Norris. Did you know; a Chuck Norris-delivered Roundhouse Kick is the preferred method of execution in 16 states.

QUOTE (Place_Name_Here @ May 5 2008, 06:54 PM) i realy injoy my small phunnel from HC but i have some questions concerning the copyright to the actual shape. I was wondering if it was legal to make a simmilar shaped bowl as long as its not sold as a "tangiers phunnel bowl. Im an artist and was wanting to make some unique bowls to sell this summer for alittle extra money for art supplies and have been working on prototypes. You need to look into hiring a patent lawyer if you REALLY want to avoid copyright/patent infringement. There are also some online sites that you can use to research, but that's not really reliable IMO.

Bowl Keeps Slipping Off My Grommet
igman87 replied to igman87's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers
I just took my dremel with a grinding stone and scored the inside of the bowl because it was completely glazed inside and out. Doing that in combination with a small piece of paper towel wrapped around the grommet seem to work the best for me. -
QUOTE (Vladimir @ Apr 12 2009, 12:36 AM) That being said, this thread has me thinking its time to figure out how to get some natural coals going (I got flat top stove, no coils ). I bought myself one of these for $20 at my local hardware store... worth every penny and it gets natural coals red hot in just a minute or two. Propane torch As for the ingredients in quick-lites: that sparking and sizzling (as mentioned by someone above) is from saltpeter or Potassium Nitrate. That stuff can make you sterile by the way.

Making My Own Shisha... Need Help

I think this person had good luck: Bllod Orange/Pineapple Shisha -
I know nothing about this place: Random Google Search

Hmm. that second link suggests that you can soak the leaves in your favorite beer, dry it and then smoke it. That might open doors to new flavors, huh?

Oldest Flavor Enhancer In The World

I would also like to note my findings of salt's solubility in glycerin: It's not. Hence the addition of water to the mixture. -

QUOTE (BohoWildChild @ Apr 9 2009, 07:08 PM) Verrrrrrrrrrry interesting..... You'd probably have to ask Eric, but wouldn't heating the shisha possibly have also been responsible for increasing the tobacco flavor? Seem like in the back of my brain there's some memory of someone having said something like that..... Also, I'm curious what the effect would be on a non-metholated shisha. One that's pure sweetness to begin with..... Hmmmm....... 'Rani Yes, that is excellent thinking. Something in the back of my brain tells me that makes a lot of sense. -

Ok, here it goes: Ingredients: 1 tsp glycerin 1/4 tsp salt (any more than this and the salt will not dissolve completely) 1/2 tsp water Tools: 1 2oz shot glass (pyrex) 1 ramekin (the typical size use for a personal serving of creme brulee) 1 glass stirring rod 1 electric stove or hot plate Procedure: Mix ingredients in the shot glass Fill ramekin 3/4 full with water Place ramekin on heating element Place shot glass in the ramekin Heat until the water in the ramekin is boiling Stir contents of shot glass until the salt is completely dissolved Remove shot glass from heat and set it aside for moment Empty the water out of the ramekin and replace with 1 bowl of shisha Continue heating Measure 1 tsp of the shot glass mixture and pour over the shisha Use medium heat until the shisha returns to the desired consistency, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and allow to cool until cool enough to handle with bare hands. Stir once more The resulting mixture should have a similar consistency to the original shisha used. Human 'Guinea Pig' Testing Taste: The taste did not change much. Surprisingly, as Phatlucyhookah theorized, I did notice a slight increase of tobacco flavor. Smoke Volume: The volume of smoke had a noticeable increase and it could be due to one or more things; The added glycerin most likely caused this effect, however I also theorize that while the glycerin is being vaporized, particles of sodium chloride enter the vapor trail and causes a similar effect to how rain droplets form (Rain cannot occur without microscopic particulate matter in the atmosphere. Water molecules are attracted to these particles and thus are the catalyst of rain drops as we know them) Duration: Same Other Observations: The smoke had a cooler feeling as Starbuzz Blue Mist does contain some form of menthol. I believe this is due to the water added during the procedure. I also noticed an increase in moisture accumulation around the tip of the hose. -

In a little while, I'll try dissolving a pinch of salt in a tsp of glycerin and adding to my Starbuzz Blue Mist. I'll give the results afterward. -

Salt: Has anyone ever thought of using salt as a flavor enhancer? Either in the base or in the shisha itself? -
Starbuzz Blue Mist I tried this one right out of the can and I thought it was awesome... then I acclimated it... WOW! You gotta give this a day to acclimate and then try it! Then, it will really blow your mind! I just have to agree with all the good things people are saying about this one. I have nothing negative to report, so it's a 10/10. My new top favorite!

Bowl Keeps Slipping Off My Grommet

I don't have a working camera, but these online pics might suffice. I'm gonna stop by the shop tonight and maybe get an upgrade. What kind of bowl would you suggest for use with Starbuzz, Al Fakher and Fantasia -
What it seemed to be: See post 9 What it actually is: A DIY thread (therefore, per forum guidelines, it belongs here)

Bowl Keeps Slipping Off My Grommet

Yeah, that's the kind of grommet I have. And since I have a modern style non-mod bowl, I suppose that's the problem. -

wow, I haven't had a chance to try that yet, but it sounds perfect! Thanks! -
The rubber grommet that my bowl fits on keeps getting wet from the syrup and causes the bowl to work it's way up off the grommet. Can anyone think of a quick fix for this? It's going to be a few days before I can get a new, better fitting grommet.
