  1. Where have you been? pretty sure we are dating :P :)

  2. Roughly 1/3 soap, 1/3 glycerine 1/3 water is supposed to be pretty good, but yeah, its all about proportions!
  3. Nah, buying bubbles is pointless and expensive. its 2.50 for a bottle of dish soap that'll make thousands of those 1 dollar bottles. Dawn + water, like 70/30, though i read that adding glycerin helps too.
  4. Dude, i never thought of starting a thread, but ive been trying to figure out the ideal mix for big bubbles too! I used to use a cardboard tube, but i bought a PVC piece at a hardware store that was about the same diameter. I find dish soap and water tends to work the best, but straight dishsoap is a little too heavy. I want to blow bubbles the size of a basketball.
  5. QUOTE (billy @ Sep 20 2007, 01:46 PM) Urrrggghhhh LL Strawberry has to be the worst flavour ever! I still have a full tub of it cause it doesnt taste like anything. wha?! dude, my layalina strawberry is the shit! Best strawberry i've ever had!
  6. Looks interesting, though i would second the notion the holes might be too big, but i know eric uses a pretty big fork to poke his holes. I would want a solid mesh though, i dont think i like the idea of that bar in the middle that pokes up and down.
  7. I've agreed with JD on everything he's ever written still do! But one thing i'd like to point out first: Make sure your hookah is airtight. EVERYWHERE. I've seen too many people with a leak try roasting the fuck out of their shisha because they're getting watered down smoke. So take the bowl off, put your hand over the top of the stem, and take a pull on the hose. If you can inhale, you have a problem. Fix it, and try again. Also, bowls take a while to start up, try using only 1 coal (not 1.5) broken in half, and let it take its time heating up.
  8. QUOTE (mdl @ Sep 4 2007, 10:11 PM) Thunderhill? Conekillah! Any of you scooby people on nasioc? Yup, that was out at thunderhill! Where was that autox held at? it looks familliar. And I'm on NASIOC but i haven't been there in easily 3 years (back when i was in my get on every forum possible phase).
  9. QUOTE (xpimpitox @ Aug 29 2007, 02:48 PM) i got excited till cal said it was fumari...i think ill pass! ill make my own hyphy juice from tangiers stuff!!! whelans is a nice spot for sure tho! Fumari is some of, if not the best tobacco you can buy, at least in my humble opinion.
  10. QUOTE (hookah hippie @ Aug 28 2007, 10:57 PM) Whelan's kicks some ass their house blend reminds me of Fumari It IS fumari. i have to tell everyone this. Bring in a bag of fumari and compare. the tobacco is identical, from the cut, to the color, to the smell. (Sex on the beach = tropical punch, most other flavor names are the same).
  11. dang. My qt has been dropped, its been knocked over, and its been used for a year, without ever having a problem. :/ i really hope mya addresses this.
  12. It sounds to me like youre sticking coals on top and just leaving it. But question: QUOTE I filled it to the rim and then put the whole coal on top. The shisha was touching the coal. I smoked for about 2 minutes and then found out I was smoking burnt shisha so I loaded another bowl. What do you mean you were smoking burnt shisha? Did it get harsh? Or did you unpeel the foil and see black and stop? Hookah is a fluid continuum. You need to start off with more heat, and then reduce it when the shisha starts cooking, and eventually add a bit more to keep it going. Your 30mm coals should be perfect for the bowl if you break it into 2 pieces, light them, and place them on opposite sides of the bowl (as far to the edge as possible). If it gets too hot, take some coal off. If its not smokey, add another 1/2 coal; but be prepared to remove coal. Next time you pack your hookah, if it gets harsh, remove heat, if its not smokey, add heat; but under NO circumstance are you allowed to pack a new bowl until you are certain it is beyond use. 99% of the time, if you remove heat, it will smoke well again without a problem (until the bowl is completely fried that is). And just because you see black tobacco in the bowl, doesn't mean you didn't do it right.
  13. QUOTE (anddy @ Aug 26 2007, 08:29 AM) yeah I was worried because I didn't even fill it up that much but somehow it burnt it pretty badly when I put a whole coal on top Because you didnt fill it up. The more tobacco you put in the bowl, the longer/more heat it will take to burn it.
  14. You need more tobacco. Whispy smoke? harsh? thats not enough tobacco. So next time, fill up your bowl. overfill your bowl. dont worry about the foil touching the shisha, thats not a problem. Then poke a lot of holes all the way through the tobacco. then toss your coals on top.
  15. I voted, but personally i believe the mods here do a great job. They cant be everywhere at once, and they do great where they are I do think a vendor post section isn't a bad idea, and forcing them to put all advertisements there would certainly simplify things; however stopping any member, especially a vendor who theoretically has a least some usefull knowledge, from posting in the hookah discussion section, seems like overkill. A vendor section, with a ban on posting advertisements in any other section (a sig - text only, with link should be allowed) would be a great solution to me. As for discussing bans, etc, i think its sometimes pointless, but usually its done for a good reason. ESPECIALLY people who post comments, etc in the review section. Mushy, Eric, Yash, and all you other mods/admins/staff/etc do a great job. The rules here are fair, and as long as they're followed we'll all have a good time. I know from time to time some of us old folks can be jerks to the new punks, but generally i try to be nice, and im sure the same is true for everyone else. Length of bans is perfect. 1 day for a first offense, longer for secondary/etc, and permanent for Smiley/OPD/etc is perfect. And as for post deletion, etc ^^ i think if nothing else, having a hookah forum member discussion section, or at least a place to report your opinion (i dont think thats the purpose of the report this post button?) might be helpfull. But the biggest issue here, to me, is people failing to be civil. And uncivilized posts should be deleted/hidden/edited, so long as the postee is informed.
  16. Jessica and Bad Reputation? Jessica is easy, it just takes a bit of practice to nail the ho/po, but after that its cake. Bad reputation is just getting down alt-strumming, cause thats really the only way you'll ge it down quickly.
  17. What kind of flavorings are you using? You're going to be better off using fruit extracts.
  18. QUOTE (SafeSearchOff @ Aug 25 2007, 01:18 AM) i wont be able to play it on expert. maybe hard. edit: did you see the video? thats some furious fretwork... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZutgOyA9EY&eurl that video? yeah. but dont ever go back to hard. Once you can do beter than mid 80's on a song, you should be moving up to the next difficulty level, and you should never go back. you wont get better if you go back to easier stuff, you only get better by practicing harder ones.
  19. It sounds to me like you're burning your shisha pretty badly. You need to take off a bit of heat, especially with bigger holes. And clean your hookah too, for good measure.
  20. QUOTE (SafeSearchOff @ Aug 24 2007, 09:31 PM) i'm sorry, maybe none of you heard me... DRAGONFORCE IS IN GH!!! lol. rock band will be equally ill, but i don't see DRAGONFORCE on the Rock Band set list... I can 5 star everything except for Jordan and Six on guitar hero II, and the guys (specifically HellsAshes) on ScoreHero couldn't get past about 6% of TFAF when they went to activision. In Co-Op mode, with both players on expert, the song has 6800 notes, roughly 13 per second. Its going to be pointless for most people to even attempt to play that song.
  21. im pretty excited for both, but im a guitar hero junkie, so in RB i will be playing guitar and not much else. Maybe singing, but i have a shitty voice.
  22. QUOTE (Erica @ Aug 24 2007, 10:20 AM) I really wish Mya would produce a darker pink color rather than than the peach color.... =o\ I know they have pink.. but it's always so dark... or way too light =o( I want a PINK PINK hookah. haha like the color of the hose above? im really suprised they dont have a base in a bright pink color.
