  4. ok i bought the 1/4" vinyl tubing. How long should i cut it? And i was wondering how i would get it on? I dont think a clamp would fit, any other ideas?
  5. QUOTE (CaptainJake @ May 24 2009, 07:06 PM) Just out of curiosity, what kind of drain did the stem fall down? I figure the curve in a normal drain would catch such a thing. it was one of those street sewer drains, i told my friend to take it and he said "ok" but as i let it go he didnt open his hand or something and it fell down and rolled right in.

Sorry to hear that happened, I've lost some hookah parts I didn't want to, too. Hookah Company does sell replacements. There a number of different sizes and threadings, I've seen collections at wholesalers, quite a lot of stuff. Ironically, they are hard to come by and somewhat expensive. I would suggest a flexible tube, like a vinyl tube. I don't know how well it would work, but they're chea and only require scissors to cut. Get a tube where the internal diameter is sufficiently large to fit over the small flange at the base of the bell, where the old downstem was, but sufficiently small to fit tightly. If you can fit one on, use a #4 clamp at the top, over the flange. The tube will only need to be 2-3", you should be able to buy a foot for $1 or $2. Get nylon if you can, if they have it. You should have enough to make three or four attempts at it. Hope this helps. Welcome to the Forum. thnx man, i appreciate it. That sounds like a really good idea. Well today is gonna be a super fun day, im devoting my day to creating a new downstem!!!lol BTW, do you know which stores carry vinyl tubing? Would lowe's or home depot carry it? I apologize to the both of you for making an ass of myself. I just thought the story was really random and funny for some reason. Delete my post if you feel it's necessary. well its not every day that your hookah downstem falls into a sewer drain
  7. alright thanks alot guys, but one more question. What should i used to attatch the plastic tube onto the bottom of the stem?

Its on the website but it doesen't let me post the link here it looks alot like this Holy shit I thought that was a different word at first, scared me a bit. If you really want to salvage that hookah, get a tap and die set, got to lowes and get a metal tube and make your own, that way you can make it as long as you want. Most of those cheap ass hookahs don't come with long enough down stems in the first place. I would suggest just getting a new hookah though, that one looks like a chinese pos, no offense. yeah its all i can afford and i really dont wanna buy a new one right now. Im trying to use stuff around my house to make a downsteam, im trying pens, rolled up soda cans, and other random stuff. But i guess tomorro i will go to lowes and buy that metal tube. Oh, sorry bud, at least you got a hookah though . I didn't meant to come off as a dick. If you are trying to save money, hold up on buying that metal pipe, I am sure some of the guys on here will have a better idea. ACTUALLY, check out this. It is about a person converting a QT into a lava lamp hookah. We originally discussed it on the forums here. It doesn't show how to make a downstem, but gives a good idea on a CHEAP way to make an extension at least. If you can figure out how to start the downstem, then you can use that mod to make it long enough. Good luck! Well thanks for posting that, i appreciate it. I have nothing planned tomorrow so i will be spending my day making a downstem(sounds fun, i know). And i never thought u were being a dick or anything, its all cool

  12. QUOTE (joytron @ May 23 2009, 07:41 PM) post up pics of your hookah. probably just have to get a new one unless you can find a pipe with the same thread at your hardware store and just cut it so size alright i'll get some pics up soon. I was thinking about going to home depot or something and cutting a pipe. I got my hookah for about 30 dollars and i really dont want to buy another one, this one is good.
  13. so im fairly new to hookah smoking. I tried it for the first time a month ago at the urging of some friends who said something was wrong with me because im middle eastern and had never tried hookah. Anyways, about a couple of weeks ago i bought my own hookah. Its pretty much your basic single hose hookah. Well yesterday i was smoking it outside with some friends and as i was taking it apart, the downstem fell into a drain, gone forever . I know that the downstem is a product that is pretty much non existant in the market but does anyone know where i could get one or even make one? any help is much appreciated
