I ordered a scalli from them about 1-2 months ago, took about 2, maybe 2 1/2 weeks for them to ship it so I wouldn't worry too much

I have a havana phunnel and a tangiers phunnel, when I smoke AF out of either of them I generally poke larger holes around the outside of the bowl that go all the way through the shisha to the bottom of the bowl, then smaller holes just through the foil poked randomly everywhere else, and 1-2 larger holes right in the middle. Seems to give good flavor and smoke for me, but really you just need to experiment and try different packing and heat management methods until you figure out what works for you.

One time I was smoking hookah inside, picked up a coal with my tongs and it basically just exploded, sending a shower of sparks all around within about a 5-10 ft radius. Luckily all of the embers dropped on the already-shitty rug

If you aren't already, try poking holes through the foil all the way through the shisha to the bottom of the bowl. Try using a lot of holes, not just one row.

I've had this hookah for almost exactly one month now and I'd like to add a little something to my review. The base is about as thick as a dime in some places, a corner broke off of mine last night while I was holding it on the counter, wiggling the stem out. So I would recommend against getting a mya with this particular base until they have their quality assurance issue straightened out. Don't expect to get any help from their customer service, I called them up and they basically told me I should have returned it as soon as I got it if I didn't like it (I couldn't tell how thin the glass was at the bottom of the base until it was broken), they don't stand behind their products at all. I still think it's a great hookah for the most part, but if you buy one don't plan on the base lasting very long, and don't plan on getting any help from the manufacturer when it magically breaks a month later.

So I called Mya up... in short, it was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The man I spoke to had a pretty thick accent, and when I told him I was disappointed by the poor quality of the base, he said he took that as a personal insult and told me I should have returned the product as soon as I got it if I wasn't happy with it. He didn't believe the glass could break "by itself", but take a look at the pics (sorry for the fuzziness, it's not an incredible camera). You can see that the corner is about the same thickness as a dime where it broke.

Guh, Mya's "Contact Us" page doesn't even work, it gives a "Page you requested was not found on our server" error!

Yeah, I'm sending a message to Mya right now expressing my outrage over the "poor quality of the product I received" I can only hope they'll send me a thicker replacement.

So last night I was taking my hookah down after a nice session with some OG tang pear... I was holding the neck of the base with one hand so that it was flush against the counter, and using my other hand to gently wiggle the stem out, then *pop*! One corner of the base just snapped off and all of the water gushed out on the floor. The glass looks just slightly thicker than paper, I'll try to post pics later when I'm home. It's pretty disappointing... I spent over $200 on this hookah and it breaks from just sitting on the counter less than a month later. Hookah-Shisha support gave me $20 in rewards points that I can use towards a new base, I want to get this one in black: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-2680-mya-ho...nt-pyramid.html but they don't have black in stock. I'll probably wait til they have it in stock, but does anyone have any recommendations for other bases I could get?

the Anise is what makes it taste like licorice. if it has anise in it, the licorice flavor is most likely going to overpower the apple flavor, depending on the brand.

Did your shisha lose flavor before the end of the session? The only reason I see why you're complaining is because there's shisha left over when you're done with the session... if it's still got flavor and is still smoking i don't see why it's the phunnel's fault.

So if you had a traditional for yourself then it would be ok. honestly, it's less of a hassle to just unscrew one autoseal when you want to purge. takes me around 15-20 seconds to purge and screw it back in on mine. i use autoseals because we have a row of computers set up at home and sometimes we like to smoke while we play video games, which is hard to do if we have to cover the mouthpiece constantly

someone needs to come up with some way to bypass the autoseal for purging. something like a button or lever on the valve that lifts the bearing enough that you can blow through. i don't imagine it would be too tough, i just lack the equipment to make it work

I have an Obelisk and I love it. The only real downside is the purge-- if using autoseal adapters, you have to actually unscrew one of them and blow into the bell, then screw it back in. It takes maybe 10-20 seconds to do this, so it really isn't a big deal. Other than that it's an incredible pipe! It smokes great, comes apart for easy cleaning, the base is super sturdy, and I always get compliments on the looks and quality of smoke when using this hookah with friends.

I've used electrical tape to fix small holes in cobra hoses before, you just have to wrap it tight

I've only had a couple flavors, but it's pretty good stuff! Just last night I mixed AF esk apple + vanilla (about 60/40 apple/vanilla), it made a great combo, really creamy flavor and lots of smoke

I just ran out of coco's and I'm stuck with chinese QL's from the local smoke shop until my new shipment arrives (ordered a lot more this time )-- I'd definitely recommend stocking up on coco's and tangiers.
