I'm definately going to buy some when I next need a load. I like the whole recycling of a by-product jazz! For those on the forum that dont know them I've cut and pasted the details from shisha-world.com below Enviroment-Friendly By winning this primary product neither fertilizer nor pesticides are used. The energy for the production process needed is far under average. COCOCHAs die down without leaving much residues. The Ashes weighs only 2% of the original product weight. 80% less than usual charcoal! For COCOCHA not a single tree is dieing. The coconut shells are only left overs from the palm oil production. The charcoal is not quick-lighting and should thererefore be lighted up by using a strong lighter or torch lighter.

The cola is okay, if you like cola shisha. I wouldn't bother with the cherry, I thought it was rubbish. Get an al amir cherry sampler if you want a lovely cherry. -

al fakher authenticity
gingervoodoo replied to cityboyyy's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers
its actually not that bad you know, I got the mixed fruit and smoked quite a bit of it. I dont want to upset the nahkla fans (! ) but I do think its a touch better. I probably would have thought it was great, but then I went and ordered some real al fakher from the states and so far nothing else has even come close. Am going to visit my aunt in san fransico in a few weeks, and have ordered some havanna, romman, tangiers, sinbad, al qemah, al fakher and al fakher golden seal!!! If the UK people I've been chatting to want to tru a bit of mine I'd be more than happy to send out a bit for my english quality massell deprived brothers & sisters! -
Heba Filter anyone?

hahahaha! yes its very 'enlightening'. I really would have struggled to understand how to apply it without the example! -
al fakher authenticity

that 'uk based' shisha company should be strung up by their gonads for their ridiculous prices! I dont know about the US but where I am in Liverpool (UK) you can only buy fake al fakher locally. Its the most rubbish printing job and inside on the tub it says 'el faker', they can't even spell it right! Doesn't smoke bad though, in fact I think better than nahkla. But its definately snide and nothing like the real thing. I think theres loads of blag al fakher about. anything thats popular is going to get copied I reckon. -
Bigging Up Romman?
gingervoodoo replied to DrShisha's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers
When I gave up cigs i didn't touch any nicotine product for a long time 'cos i knew anything would send me back. Now I haven't smoked them for a long time i do sometimes get a nicotine craving smoking shisha but its more of a vague idea than a overpowing craving. Because i've distanced the physical addiction of nicotine with the psychological gratification of cigarettes I think its easier to remain a casual shisha smoker than grouchy cig-junky! Don't get me wrong. we all know its the nicotine thats physically addictive, but you can't instantly gratify it with shisha, or build shisha into your day-to-day life until it becomes an integral part of everyday activities. Still, might ask my boss if I can incorporate 5-hour long shisha breaks into my working day. Might be worth a try eh? oops, rambled again! -

Bigging Up Romman?
gingervoodoo replied to DrShisha's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers
So I could be smoking the equivalent of a pack of twenty over an hour session? I've read that you get a lot of nictotine hit from shisha smoking due to duration but the thing I like about shisha is that you dont cold-turkey from it in the way you do cigarrettes. I fought long and hard to give up cigs but shisha smoking doesn't make me feel like I'm taking the slippery slope back to the dark side or anything? But if you're getting that much nicotine you'd think you would, hey? Must be all the other rubbish in cigs that makes you crave it so much, hey? Or just the quick fix. oops! rambled off topic. soz! :-) -
Fat Burn Hole In The Carpet...
gingervoodoo replied to Iron Lung's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers

I recommend getting a bowl with a windscreen... I saw one at EliteHookah.com for 9 bucks. It may seem a little steep but its probably worth preventing burn holes in your carpet...
Those are nice but I've heard that they are also harder to manage the heat in
man i love mine. it saves me and my house/dog/drunk friends on a regular occasions. And I think its easier to manage heat really. Because you know regardless of the surrounding temperatutre that little metal cover is going to retain the heat you can judge coal usage. You just have to get used to it. I shouldn't have put so much coal on my al waha last night I think. Also, I think because the heat is so contained you get a more even burning of the shisha, with no 'hot-spots'. I've banged on about these on the site before.... I'm not associated to them, I just think they're really good! -
Bigging Up Romman?
I love romman lemmon, orange, and apple. And I like that unlinke most premium shishas, rommans is unwashed.java script:qr_show_hide();
what do you mean, 'unwashed'? Dont know much about the makings of shisha I'm afraid. -
Does anyone smoke their shisha with a Heba Filter on the end of their stem? I found one in a shop the otherday and bought it. 1) because i like to minimise the impurities/tobacco smoked over a really big session and 2) becuase my boyfriend alway moans about the bubbling noise when we're watchjing a film! http://www.filterheba.com/ Does anyone know is they really work? I tried it for the first time last night. I dont think it made any difference to my smoke. My smoke seemed a bit harsher than usual, but to be fair I was smoking some old al waha I found and I've been used to al fakher/al amir. And also..... I know this may sound a bit silly.... but I kinda missed the feel and sound of the bubbles as I took a pull. It felt like I had forgotton to put water in! Do you think the bubbling is an important part of shisha enjoyment?

Some words on Tangiers Green apple.
gingervoodoo replied to King Mo's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers
what an interesting waste of time at work reading this thread. Handbags at dawn! :-) I wish I blooming hadn't ordered any tangiers before reading this though! low humidity, high humidity, 1/3 of the heat, extra packed bowls, 'fat blob' bowls, funnel bowls, extra holes, cuddly toy. I think I'm going to go and order me some more Al Fakher and just err.... put it in a bowl with some foil and light it. And look everyone....... why hasn't the emperor got any clothes on? ;-) -
I've just ordered a couple of sinbads. The packaging and flavours look amazing but someone said they didn't remember it getting good reviews. I guess the truth is in the smoking........
-
I had a look at the shisha-world site and it looked really good. I thought the tobacco side of things let it down though, does anyone know why the US has got all this amazing shisha and we can have to search high and low to find anything good in the EU? Is is EU laws or something? Or are we just way behind the US in this?! Oh, and shisha worlds standard postage is 16.80 euros (about 9.50?). It doens't matter how teeny weeny the parcel is either! So you have to order enough to justify the postage. I can't find anything in the reviews section for sinbad shisha. :-( I am not hopeful!

I've just ordered some stuff off hookah-kings 'cos there was 20% off for hookah-forum customers. I dont know what they're like but they sent me the UPS tracking sheet a few hours after the order. Hows that for service. I got some tangiers that people seem to like but I haven't tried. I also got a couple of 'Sindbads'. They had TWO cherry flavours to choose from, I haven't tried that tobacco but you'd buy it for the packaging alone. Anyone else tried these two?

I've ordered lots of 50g sample packs from hookahcompany.com and southsmoke.com and all ordered have turned up to liverpool safe and sound. And blooming good job they did too, or I'd be smoking the dried up old rubbish available here. At the moment southsmokes got a bit of a sale on and they're great. If youre just trying out different stuff until you figure out what you like. 1. southsmoke.com do 50g packs of al amir (cherry is mmmmmmm....) and al waha's 2. hookahcompany.com do 50g packs of layliana and al faker (al fakhers the best I've tried I reckon. 3. Hookah-shisha.com do 50g packs of romman and havana, I've just ordered 12 different flavours. enjoy.........
-
Hey, I'm still not convinced but maybe the nakhla round here is fake. In the UK theres lots of fake al fakher (spelt wrong on the box in crap packaging!) so it wouldn't surprise me. Al Waha has lots of good flavours but I only think its on a par with Nahkhla, el baz and all the other so-so smokes. Loads of people smoke Nahkla 'cos its the best of a bad bunch that you can but locally. Doesn't make it good, just makes it a big fish in a small pond! Layliana, Al amir, al fakher, havana etc are all stepping up a notch and nahkla, el baz etc can never beat them!

MYA QT or cheaper alternative?
gingervoodoo replied to ThePaulson's topic in Discussion Group for all Hookah Lovers
Can I suggest the bowl with attached windcover for anti-burning things. I couldn't smoke without mine because: 1) My stoopid dog can walk into my shisha all it wants . I can grab it and no coals go flying all over the place. 2) It fits two pieces of noor charcoal in there perfectly 3) The cover retains the heat and (providing you use good tobacco) you get the best smoke instantly because it really heats up. 4) The best thing about it is when smoke is dying down and you think you need some more coals/tobacco you just pick the bowl up from the bottom (not the lid cos it hot! :-) ), turn it upside down and vigourously shake over your ash catcher. All the old ash, and small bits of lit charcoal will come out, you jig the tobacco around by shaking and you get another 30mins of smoking at least. No waste or hassell at all. I love mine, they rock. thankfully not, and the companies don't really splash it all over the box either. I had a few boxes sent over and I've never had to cough up for duties. What I did was order lots of 50g sample packs from both hookahcompany.com and socialsmoke.com. I ordered 10-ish sample boxes to make the delivery worthwhile but when you convert it to £'s it works out about £2.50 a pack, about the same price as the dried up cornershop rubbish. Now I know what I really like I'm ordering at least four 250g packs to be sent to my aunts house in california, cos I'm going on a hoilday there soon and I plan to shisha out! If I had any of the good stuff left I wold of sent you out but I'm down to my last bowl of al amir banana split now.... :-( Get some al fakher or some al amir, you'll be in shisha heaven! :-) oh, and i got some cream for the gingerVD. cleared up fine.
-
is everyone mad? nahkla is rubbish, bottom of the market, corner shop stuff. wouldn't touch it! The best ones I've tried so far are al fakher or al amir. Good thick smoke and decent flavours. Tired layalina but thought the cherry was rubbish, which is my favorite flavour. the al amir cherry was far better. Nahkla my bottom! Al waha doesn't rate for me either. Haven't tried havana, romman, tangiers or starbuzz yet but so far al fakher and al amir are the only ones worth smoking in my trials! :-)
-
I'm new here but had to chip in! Nahkla is crap! If thats all youre smoking then you may wee yourself with excitment when you actually smoke proper shisha. I dont even bother buying any shisha in england because its all way too expensive and rubbish. I'd rather not smoke at all than smoke any of the fake al fakher and nahkla I can pick up in liverpool. Go to southsmoke.com, hookahcompany.com etc and buy some real al fakher, or al amir etc and even with the price of delivery to the UK it works out cheaper than buying rubbish here. Al Fakher on southsmoke.com is $9.99 (about £6 for 250g) Its £4-50ish for fake al fakher here! I haven't tried azfal but I suspect thats rubbish as well. I've tried loads of 50g samples in the past to check out whats good and whats not, now I wouldn't even disrespect my shisha-pipe by putting anything else in it but 1) al fakher 2) al fakher premium 3) romman 4) al amir 5) starbuzz 6) havana. There may be other good brands out there but I dont know about them. Seriously fella, Nahkla and all the other corner shop toot isn't like smoking a shisha at all. Do I sound harsh?! Don't mean to rant but ordering from the states has been like a revelation to me! It will cost about £13 delivery from the states but even if you add that onto a few £250g jars it makes it reasonable and a really good shisa pipe is priceless! :-)
