I am a total newbie to HF, not to hookah, but the amount of knowledge that I have gained through reading and interaction with members here has been astounding. I didn't join because I can't make friends or have a ton of free time to kill, but rather to learn from and talk to folks who are passionate about hookahs and improving the experience. If that is your intent in joining, and assuming that I represent a "normal" new member, I see nothing to change. I was greeted by several folks my first day, became active, and got help on a couple issues, posted some reviews, chatted on TC, and not once was I made to feel less than valued. So, props to the crew.

Thanks for the help so far. It is smelling less burnt, I think its almost gone. It still has an odd kinda chemically smell tho. Ive heard speculation that it has lavender as a flavor component. If so, it could be the lavender giving it the odd smell? Thanks!

I have never had Indian Summer, but just ordered some and got it thursday. Its been acclimating since (2.5 days) and still smells funky and burnt. the other 3 flavors i got are all aclimated and smoking well. So, does Indian Summer take longer to acclimate in your experience, and if not, does it just smell funky? Ive got it out on wax paper, spread thin, stirring a few times daily, and I live in the Seattle area, if you want specifics. Any help appreciated. Thanks!!

Good word. I like the orange cream a lot, and the turk. coffee isnt too shabby either. I also like the fig. It certainly is a good deal for a good smoke.

Not like cigarettes, no. But it does leave a smell like whatever shisha you are smoking smells like. Not super strong, but there nonetheless.

Yes, corrosion meaning rust. Only iron rusts, so other metals oxidize differently, that's why I referred to it as corrosion. But anyway, id try to use the product above, clr, to remove it all along with a wire or stiff nylon brush. Be sure to rinse it extremely well after cleaning It should only recur if you don't wash the hookah well after use, assuming there is no internal rust.

As best as I can see, that looks like corrosion. It should come off with scrubbing and/or the clr noted above

good deal. if you are using a standard bowl, i find that with Al Waha if i take 2 QL coals and break them in half and use 3 halves around the perimeter of the bowl it gets hot enough to smoke well, but not so hot as to burn. good luck tonight!

[/quote] Teflon tape works great on my Mya gelato purge port. I have the same deal wiith the little gasket being too small to seal well. But Teflon on the threads worked great! On another note altogether, ih303, are you from rapid city?
