1. So a little while ago I purchased a Econo My Gyro hookah, and I love that thing. Recently I went to clean my hookah and tried to unscrew the downstem from upper part. I wasn't able to get it off, but I'm a fairly small girl, so I asked my boyfriend to get it off. He couldn't either. I tried using rubber gloves (for traction) and hot water (thinking maybe it was sugar crusted up on the threads) but to no avail. It's stuck on there pretty good. Any ideas on how to get it to budge? I'd hate to bust out the rust remover though I don't see any trace of rust anywhere. I just would like to avoid harsh chemicals in my hookah that I would be smoking out of later. Thanks again!

SBZ Peaches and Cream Pipe: Mya Saray Econo Gyro Bowl: Vortex Coals: 3K 40mm Foil: Kroger heavy duty, double folded Liquid in base: Plain ol' water Cut: Typical Starbuzz, mid-tone brown color Smoke: Decent clouds Buzz: No buzz Flavor: Plenty of the "cream" taste but not much on the peach I smoked this a little while back, and was really looking forward to a creamy, peachy taste. I was kind of disappointed. I tasted the cream immediately. It was a smooth, vanilla taste. Very savory and enjoyable. However, the peach part was pretty much missing. I would get a slight tart taste now and then, but all in all, the peach taste was pretty absent. If I had some, I'd mix a regular peach flavor (of any brand) in with this shisha to boost the peach part. 7/10

Sweet Melon

Al Tawareg Sweet Melon Pipe: Mya Saray Econo Gyro Bowl: Vortex Coals: 3K 40mm Foil: Kroger heavy duty, double folded Liquid in base: Water Cut: Very finely minced; very, very juicy. It was running down my fingers. Smell: It smells "sweet" without any sort of flavor that I can detect Smoke: Thick, white smoke Buzz: Mild buzz Flavor: Tastes faintly of melon. Like cantaloupe, but not as full flavored. I'm not a melon person, but I had a 50g box of this so I gave it a whirl. Once I got it smoking, I could taste the melon. It was very understated and mild. Not very sweet. I actually like it. Most melon flavors I've tried are too sweet, almost sickly sweet. This is pretty tasty. I can easily imagine smoking a bowl of this in the dog-days of Summer, perhaps with a juice in the base, and it being very refreshing. I plan on ordering it again. 9/10. One point deducted for a less-than-stellar buzz.

Juicy Peach

Al Tawareg Juicy Peach Pipe: Mya Saray Econo Gyro Bowl: Vortex Coals: 3K 40mm Foil: Kroger heavy duty, double folded Liquid in base: Water Cut: Very finely minced; very, very juicy Smell: Like peach candy Smoke: Thick, white smoke Buzz: No buzz to speak of Flavor: Tastes like peach candy, but it wears on you kinda quick I was fairly impressed with the Al Tawareg fruit cocktail, so I ordered a ton of 50g boxes of various flavors, one of them being Juicy Peach. I loaded up my vortex bowl with the stuff and got it smoking. It was pretty tasty for a while. It smoked very well, producing thick smoke that smelled and tasted like peach candies. However, after a while, the taste wore on me. It was like I was eating bags upon bags of sickly sweet peach candy. I am going to finish the bowl, but I can easily imagine another brand doing the peach flavor better. 6/10
5. I purchased a Vortex bowl a little while back after getting annoyed with the messy clean-up of my standard Mya bowl. I didn't like how the juices from the shisha dripped down and covered everything from the grommet to the place that holds the ash tray. I had heard that vortex bowls last longer too, with as much or less shisha. So I bought one. WOW. What an improvement!! My shisha is far more flavorful and lasts forever. I can easily go through five our six Golden quicklights before I even think the bowl might be nearing it's end. I gave my Mya bowl away after the first time I smoked from the Vortex. I did notice that I had a hell of a time smoking Tangiers out of it, so I ordered a Phunnel to see if there is a difference as everyone says, but either way, this Vortex bowl makes for a very enjoyable hookah session. Worth every penny!
6. Al Tawareg Fruit Cocktail Pipe: Mya Saray Econo Gyro Bowl: Vortex Coals: Golden 33mm Foil: Kroger heavy duty, double folded Liquid in base: Plain ol' water, ice slushy Cut: Finely cut, juicy and sticky, only one stem I could find Smoke: Thick, white smoke Buzz: Decent buzz Flavor: Very fruity, with almost a bubblegum undertone. Pretty tasty. I got a 50g pack of this with my hookah and decided to pack it for a smoking session with Boyfriend. I packed a Vortex bowl fairly tightly with the stuff and set about smoking it. We have gone though three different Golden coals and it's still going strong! I thought it was alright. I'm not a fan of bubblegum so the occasional taste of it was not all that tasty to me, though not unpleasant. Boyfriend really enjoyed it. Very nice smell. Smokes very well and never got harsh! This bowl prompted me to order about nine packs of 50g Al Tawareg in different flavors to try. 9/10 one point deducted for bubblegum flavor.
7. SBZ Chocolate Mint Pipe: Mya Saray Econo Gyro Bowl: Vortex Coals: 3K 40mm Foil: Kroger heavy duty, double folded Liquid in base: Plain ol' water Cut: Typical Starbuzz, bright crayon green color Smoke: Nice, thick, white clouds Buzz: Excellent buzz Flavor: Strong mint flavor with a savory chocolate undertone I don't particularly like mint chocolate anything, but I wanted to try something other than the standard fruit and/or flower flavors. I loaded up my Vortex bowl with this stuff and got it smoking, and once it was going, I was puffing away and blowing thick, minty clouds. It has a very prominent mint flavor, not so much chocolate though. I get a taste of it now and then but it's all mint on the exhale. I actually enjoyed this flavor, and like I said before, I'm not a huge mint chocolate fan. It tastes like an Andes mint, and the flavor is pretty consistent, especially with the vortex bowl. I wouldn't mind pulling this stuff out now and then. 9/10

9. Beautiful hookah! I just bought my very first hookah the other day and should be receiving it Tuesday. I understand the excitement!
10. Fair enough. Before I was educated and developed a liking for smoking shisha via hookah, I was under the impression that hookah WAS just used for NHT. I think with it becoming more of a trend, that idea is being scaled back, but it going to take some work and visibility of hookah enthusiasts to cement the image that hookah is not about NHT.
11. I am originally from Beaver County, PA, though i live in Morgantown, West Virginia now, for school. It's a lot like Wester PA anyway.
12. Hi, I'm Eri. I'm 24, from Morgantown, West Virginia. I've recently picked up an interest in hookah after going to the new hookah bar in town, called X-hale. I am told that this is the only hookah bar in the state. Prior to trying it for the first time I was staunchly anti-smoking-anything, but I learned I really enjoy hookah so I'd like to learn more about it. Thankya!
