  1. I'd be an agnost atheist. I lack belief in god and am therefore an atheist, but I'm open to the idea of the existence of a higher power, should sufficient evidence be presented. Atheism and agnosticism are in no way mutually exclusive. :D
  2. QUOTE (Gaara @ Oct 25 2007, 01:23 PM) Your lack of faith is unsettling. Do you have any faith or do you always have to see something in order to believe it in your heart? I can't speak for sm5sfe, but here's my take on it. Why would you consider a lack of faith "unsettling"? Personally, I don't have any faith, because I think it's intellectually dishonest to accept a belief that cannot be supported with evidence.
  3. QUOTE (Gaara @ Oct 25 2007, 01:10 AM) 1) You know science is theory. None of those things you've mentioned are 100% true facts written in stone. I don't think you understand the difference between scientific fact and theory...
  4. QUOTE (nestormakhno @ Jul 23 2007, 01:56 PM) Cloves have always been a novelty item to me. I'd never buy a pack for myself. After three-quarters of one, I can pretty much feel the fiber glass shredding my lungs to pieces. Mm, delicious. Lol... there's no fiberglass in cloves. I don't smoke cigarettes much, but to me, cloves are much less harsh than most other medium cigarettes. Maybe it's the eugenol? *shrug*
  5. QUOTE (jonny_lech @ Jul 15 2007, 10:27 PM) Opeth is *amazing*. Definitely somewhere in my top 5 of bands. Usually I would agree on the part of the 90s, but one metalhead band that has moved up high in the Pantheon is Mastodon and these guys are 21st century ordeal. Also, I think the band Isis has come into their own since '00. But Opeth, I saw them at that special showing in Manhatten where they had the dancers interpreting Deliverance. Amazing show. They are truly top notch. Ghost of Perdition was pure bliss. The only thing is, now that it seems the band's makeup is changing, I'm wondering how well the band will turn out? Sometimes original band members leave but sometimes the band just gets better (read: Tool). I kind of have always gotten the impression that Akerfelt is the glue to Opeth. Definitely... If you couldn't tell, Opeth is my favorite band . I saw them in Chicago for one of their three Chronology shows, and they were amazing -- and that wasn't long after they signed on the new drummer. I'm not worried about their future, because, after all, Akerfeldt is Opeth. From what I understand, he pretty much writes all the music anyways. Sure, Lopez and Lindgren will be missed, but their replacements are just as metal. \m/ I'm a fan of Mastodon as well... they definitely don't get enough recognition.
  6. Man, this is a really hard decision... I'm a metalhead, and IMO the best metal is from the 1990's. True, there is lots of great metal from the 1980's and the 2000's, but personally my favorite music is generally from the 1990's. That's when the melodic Gothenburg style of metal was in full swing. Opeth, In Flames, At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy, etc...
  7. I've been drinking a lot of Bell's Oberon lately. Fantastic summer ale, if a little on the sweet side. 6% ABV, too.
  8. QUOTE (Big Boss @ Jul 11 2007, 07:27 PM) I'll go with a Leinenkugel Creamy Dark. It seems to go with every flavor I have. Good choice... As a Wisconsinite, I can say with authority that Creamy Dark is definitely the best Leinie's beer. Leinie's Red is a close second, though.
  9. Pharaoh's makes Sex on the Beach. Starbuzz makes X on the beach.
  10. Personally, I've never understood the hype over putting ice in your vase. I just use cold tap water. I've tried both cold water and ice water, and I get a more pronounced flavor with cold water and smoke that is just as thick and smooth. For the record, I smoke mostly Al Fakher and Layalina out of a small phunnel bowl with mod. But hey, this is just my opinion, try both methods out for yourself and see which gives you the best results!
