Some of you may have seen my other thread wherein I lamented the fact that to get a QT in Canada would cost $100 CAD. Well my friend and I just planned a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas in 2 weekends, so I figured there must be some place down there where I could rustle up a QT. I guess the only consideration would that it be relatively close to the strip. I saw someone recommend a place called House Of Smokes in another thread. That place looks unbelievable, but it just looks like its a bit far out of the way. I figure cabbing it down there, picking up the pipe, and cabbing it back might cost me $100 as well. If anyone could help, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks! edit: ahhh, just thought of something though. I cant imagine a hookah looks very good showing up on the x-ray screen. I think we'll be leaving from Buffalo, but has anyone ever travelled with a hookah in their luggage? I dont want my bag to get blown up.

Those things you put underneath flower pots work well. Dont absorb the heat very much.

ya, I've seen the mya-esque hookahs about but on closer inspection they were all cheap chinese rip-offs as well. I was thinking about those places that throw the free shisha in, but the only problem I see with that is that I think customs would be more likely to check the parcel if there was a hookah inside, and then i'd get hit with tobacco duties on top of that. Guess I'm just going to have to order online then.... Thanks though!

Summer has brought with it a desire to crack my hookah out again. I had a cheap mitsuba hookah that I had left idle for the last 8 months, and when I went to clean it out there seems to be a pile of oxidization (possibly rust) clogging up the stem so naturally I dont want to use it anymore. I've been looking around and I've decided to get a Mya QT. I live in Canada though which makes everything hookah related 2x as much to buy. It seems that ebay is fresh out of them, so I looked around to mnhookah, hookah-shisha, and southsmoke, but anywhere I try to by it from has about $30 in shipping which after tax and converting the dollar, is about $100 which is a lot of scratch. Does anyone know where I might be able to get one with better shipping rates? I'm also close to Hamilton and Toronto if anyone knows if I can pick one up in those areas. Suppose if there's no way around it I'll probably bust down at pay the $100 but I'm just trying to see if theres any other options at the moment.

I've used mine a few times a month for about a year now. Cant say I've had any problems. I upgraded the hose to a mya hose, and I like it alot better. Its more pliable, and is just better all around. I'll probably upgrade to a mya soon just because I usually smoke in groups, and the whole multi-hose adapter thing would be useful.

shouldnt colder water produce more smoke? I mean, you're inhaling/exhaling condensed vapour, thus I think that the colder the water, the more condensation is going on.

Best - probably smoking on the dock with my friends at the one guy's cottage. Worst - probably the time the pipe tipped over and coal sprayed all over the carpet. Thankfully its a rather dark rug.

I've been noticing that people seem to fly through shisha on this forum (fellow mentioned that he goes through a few kilos per month with his room-mates). Maybe I just pack small bowls or something because I've had my hookah about a year now and I've gone through probably around 100+g of nakhla, 50g of After Nine, and an unknown amount of nakhla cherry, double apple (less than 50 g each), and AF Strawberry (less than 250 g but I dont know if its even half of the container). So how much shisha do you go through in, say, a month?

I usually use two sheets on the standard mya bowl, but I used one the last couple sessions with my shallow bowl.

Its a pretty big gamble. I think the 'long after we're dead' thing is a little optimistic. Ontario swooped in and banned public smoking really really quickly I thought. Its no trouble for me though, I rather like eating in restaurants that dont smell like ash, though you hookah bar owners have to keep watching over your shoulders.

I think you should maybe wait a few months, then doctors appointment, and then consider picking hookah back up sparingly

if I had to guess, I'd say kashmir apple was the two-apple if only because kashmir seems to imply 'spice' in the tangiers world. (I'm just saying that based on what I've heard. Havnt smoked tangiers yet). But is the shipping calculator on MN working for you? It still isnt working for me
