  2. QUOTE (HookahCrazy @ Aug 25 2007, 06:13 PM) wow definite props for attempting to do it yourself, and from what it sounds like, your pretty much there. Do you find your shisha as moist as purchased shisha? because i would be interested in doing that as well. cake batter sounds interesting! When using the molasses it is very moist but when using the corn syrup its more of a gel so i end up using more glycerin with the corn syrup to get it less viscous. i have tried using honey, molasses, and corn syrup, and according to my research i believe that corn syrup was the sweetest so i believe it will work best with the candy oils. The oils are highly concentrated and are not sweet to begin with, they do give off a great smell so most of my failed batches have been left out as air fresheners . My preparation method: 1:heated corn syrup on low heat 2:added in tobacco till the mixture was sticky not soaked 3.added flavoring oil 4.added glycerol till the mixture was a shisha consistancy 5.added flavoring oil I add the flavoring after the glycerol because the glycerol causes the smoke so i figure u want the flavor mixed in with the smoke component.
  3. QUOTE (anathema @ Aug 25 2007, 01:49 PM) He's doing pretty well imo because all he is lacking is full flavoring. Thanks that’s the way i feel as well, this forum has a lot of good info on it but when you start talking about making shisha people are less then open. It is understandable, i wouldn’t expect someone who's livelihood depends on making shisha to openly give out their secrets. My main reason for creating my own shisha was to get more flavor out of it. I have tried using more flavoring oil but it doesn't seem to make a reasonable difference. it also seems to throw off the balance for a long lasting smoke
  4. QUOTE (chinamon @ Aug 25 2007, 01:27 PM) please leave it to the experts. im not trying to start my own company i just have an intrest in doing things myself
  5. QUOTE (Calcartman @ Aug 25 2007, 01:24 PM) What kind of flavorings are you using? You're going to be better off using fruit extracts. i have a link in the first post to the site where i got the oils from i cant tell you much more about it then that.
  6. I am using candy oil to flavor my shisha but the flavor is very light, does anyone know what else i can use to flavor my shisha. right now im using about 1/8th tsp for 1/4th cup of dried tobbacco. maybe the flavors im using are not being made into shisha because they are so light. I have tried cake batter and snickerdoodle so far and they smoke well, last a good while but hardly any flavor, it also has a slight oily taste (it could be from too much the glyserol).
