forgot to mention.. the sheraton in jumeriah beach residence offers a 150 dirham watermelon shisha.. what they do is use a pineapple for a bowl.. and plug the bowl into a watermelon thats placed on a stand. the shisha hose and stem both plug into the watermelon which is filled with watermelon juice. have yet to try it.

this is fairly popular in dubai.. the place i frequent offers apple + pineapple bowls.. pineapple for 50 and apple for ~45 aed (roughly 13 dollars) the pineapple doesn't add any flavor, but only serves as a giant bowl.. the pineapple is by far my favorite and when i go out thats all i get... you can usually place 10 or so large chunks of natural coals on them. as for the apple, for the first 15 minutes or so.. it can add the apple flavor.. i find the sour green apples to be the best.. but the flavor disappears quickly.. and the bowl doesn't last a long time.. and gets soft after a good 45 minutes.

first few times i tried it i was using a standard bowl.. and the smoke was harsh or thin, not much flavor.. just received my funnel and acclimated for only about 2-3 hours.. but i'm really enjoying this orange soda.. it has a very nice strong 'hit the spot' kind of smoke to it.. the flavor isn't as strong as i was expecting.. but its not harsh and the smoke is great.. i'm definitely enjoying it. i can't wait to try the f-line.

I think grape is horrible..some people love it though, but there is a slight undertone of meat...its terrible. my favorites are Melon | Apple | Golden Strawberry (Regular strawberry gives me head aches) | Mint as a mixer (usually with apple)...but never on its own.

man...you guys got it rough... Dubai Prices: 17 AED = $4.60 for a 250g box of Golden Al Fakher 45 aED = $12.26 for 1kg Al Fakher. Maybe I should start supplying the UK

Romman Raspberry setup: Maya QT smell: Smelled pretty good. smoke: Thick Smoke taste: Very light, no raspberry at all. I was extremely disappointed with the raspberry. It was probably one of the worst flavors I have smoked because it left an absolutely horrible "after taste" in my shisha. I couldn't enjoy anything else until i thoroughly scrubbed it clean. The flavor really wasn't so strong..it was just a hint of flavor that was able to compeltely saturate my shisha. Would never smoke again. 1/10

damnit! not sure what to do.. i wanted to break the shisha in tonight.. i have a bowl from my other shisha, but its really shallow..i wanted to use a more 'proper' (deeper) bowl with my qt for the first time. on the other hand, waiting another 15 days doesn't seem liike something i want to do.

wont know for a few weeks, but hope it lives up to the hype

so...after a long wait, i finally had my maya qt + other assorted goodies delivered to me today...express international shipping is expensive! 61 bucks. now just waiting on a few other goodies.. funnels/scali mod + some tangiers. wont get that for a good 15 days. pics to come i'm currently at work, but as soon as the goods came i had to open it up and check out the qt base.. did a quick scan and to my surprise.. no cracks. we'll see, i couldn't exactly inspect it at work...hmm....i wonder if they sent me the correct stem?

hummus is always a winner moroccan tea / coffe (from a coffee press) go great with shisha. anything spicy also...especially indian food

nice piece waiting for mine to be delivered...and just now realized that i'm not going to get a badass carrying case! the wire cage looks weak sauce.

using them right now and have to say they're excellent.. exactly like the stuff in the cafe's. 100x better than quick lights.

Anyone ever see these coals? Never seen them on the sites... Not much variety here in dubai...went to the local downtown market..all shops claim this is what is used in the shisha cafe's. Have absolutely NO experience with natural coals...left lots of dust on my hands when i handled them.
