  1. I really like AF Esk. Apple. To me it has sort of a 'fresh apple cider' flavor to it.
  2. QUOTE (Cheese// @ Oct 22 2007, 04:55 PM) For me it's gotta clumsy assholes knocking the hookah over. Just can't stand it one bit. It's just pure bliss, then some dumbass knocks the coal onto your new jeans. A close second would be lighting the coal. It stinks like hell and makes me want to vom when it's lighting. I usually smoke alone, so if anyone knocks the hookah over, the clumsy asshole is me.

If I ever end up in NC and drop by Bliss, I'm gonna be looking for the guy with the helmet with mail over his face and says "VACATION TIME!" to all the people that knock over your pipes Not to completely hijack the thread or anything but, Mushrat, could that possibly be a Pennsic pic that you have as your avatar? Just wonderin'. Gulf Wars actually, about 3 years ago..... I'm in Windmasters Hill, Atlantia. Yourself? I'm in Akron, OH. I've not been to Gulf Wars yet--it always happens when I can't get off work. I've heard its a blast, though.

  6. I'm still new at this hookah thing. In fact, I've only been at it a few weeks, but already i'm enjoying it immensely. I hear lots of folks talking about the Phunnel bowl and the fact that it works better. I've also heard about the mod for the Phunnel (Scalli??) and it seems that most folks who use the Phunnel use the mod too. Up to now, I've been using pretty standard medium sized egyptian clay bowls on my 22" hookah. I tend to prefer washed shisha, like Al Fakher, since a crazy buzz isn't the most important thing to me. Are the Phunnels better? Are they only for Tangiers? What is this mod? Do you need the mod to use a Phunnel, or can you use it without? Should I just keep on with my standard bowls and not worry about the Phunnel? Could someone please educate me. I've seen lots about it on the forum, but no simple explanation of what it is, why I want it (or don't) and how to use it. Thanks in advance Brian
  7. I have a 50g package of AF Sweet melon that I smoked one bowl of. Long story short, I don't like it at all. Its very fresh (manufactured Jun 2007) and only missing one bowlful. I don't want to see it go to waste, so I will send it to someone in the US who wants it. Should you like to send me something in trade in consideration, that would be welcomed, but not required. Just let me know.
  8. Has anyone here ever put their hookah into an automatic dishwasher for cleaning? I have to believe that the dishwasher wouldn't hurt the base any, as the one I have is made of glass and is not painted or otherwise decorated. The stem, being stainless, shouldn't react much differently than the stainless silverware I put in there. I guess the main concern is the dishwashing detergent, but it seems to rinse pretty clean--I've never tasted it on my dishes. Still, since I haven't seen any mention of cleaning it this way, I'm a little hesitant to try it. Has anyone here tried it? Is there a reason I should not do it? What do you folks think?
  9. I've been lurking around here for a bit reading up on hookahs, smoking and hookah culture. I've finally gone ahead and purchased my first hookah. I got the single-hose Nile from Hookah-Shisha.com. It seemed like a pretty good deal for the price, especially considering all the 'throw-ins' that are included. Unfortunately, its not going to be here until Oct. 1, and I can't wait. Truth be told, I've never smoked a hookah before. Up to this point, I've been a traditional pipe smoker, smoking mostly English blends (with no sweeteners or flavorings). I'm looking forward to experiencing my first hookah smoke, and wondering what to expect. At any rate, since smoking seems to be a social activity, I thought I'd introduce myself and make your acquantances. I'm sure as I'm trying to get my rig set up and trying to get the smoke right, I'll be back on here with plenty of questions and comments. Brian
