The tobacco you smoked is called Zhagoul (or something similar, Mushrat back me up with the spelling). It's the original hookah tobacco, no molasses, no additives. Total flavor country.

You can pry my QT from my cold dead hands. They smoke wonderfully, nearly un-knock-over-able, and don't have the awkwardness of a larger hookah. They smoke as easily as anything else (especially if you're using a wider hose), and most of all they're durable. Some of them get smoked three times a night with full washes in between, and aside from one getting shattered a few weeks ago, all are still going like champs.

At our hookah bar (and by 'our' I mean Mushrat's), we go through way more Tangiers that you'd think for a casual crowd. We're often limited by the number of funnel bowels we have, and need to direct people to the other flavors. Kashmir Peach is our house favorite, so there's definitely nothing inherently wrong with the shisha. The best things I can suggest are the following: Let to tobacco air out for a good 6-8 hours (set it out the morning before the party). Smoke it in a Tangiers funnel bowl packed hard into the doughtnut for the shisha and keep the airway clear of crumbs and tendrils of shisha. Poke two concentric rings of holes in your foil, so the majority of the heat is pulled over the shisha. Try to keep a relatively low amount of coal (all natural of coures) spread around the outer edge of the bowl, over the holes. Rotate the coals around the outside to prevent hot-spots.
