1. Great Idea. It reminds me of wort chillers used in making beer(which is perfectly legal here in the good old USA). Check out some of these commercially available options-you might be able to adapt something. http://morebeer.com/search/102202 Your's reminds me of an immersion cooler.
2. What do you guys drink when you are smoking a Hookah? I've started drinking diet minute maid lemonade. If I'm going to drink something alcoholic, it has to be Whiskey/rum/cognac. For some reason I can't stand beer or the usual sodas with my Hookah.
3. That probably is rust. As MechAnt said, rust is oxidized metal. For a number of reasons, metals usually are more likely to rust in a weld. You've gotten lots of good advice on how to clean it off, just remember to use STAINLESS steel wool or a STAINLESS steel brush to do it with.
4. QUOTE (aethiolas @ Nov 20 2007, 11:07 AM) Personally I'd just be excited if there was shop near me that even carried starbuzz! Agreed, I'm tired of having to buy HookahHookah locally when I have run out of shisha and I'm waiting on a shipment.
5. I think it is highly variable. A lot of it depends on how you pack a bowl. Let’s examine two different techniques used to pack a bowl. Let’s say technique #1 uses a large bowl with the coal placed very close to Shisha and very little if any air space between the coal and the Shisha. This is going to vaporize a high amount of matter. It is also going to vaporize chemicals that won’t be vaporized in our second example. This is going to generate the large smoke clouds that we are used to seeing on YouTube. Let’s say in technique #2, we pack a smaller bowl with about 5mm of distance between the coal and the Shisha. We also use a smaller amount of coal. Shisha temperatures in this example are going to be much closer to 200 degrees rather than 600 or 700 degrees as in our first example. Less matter and fewer type of matter are going to make it to the lungs. The current research does not standardize these variables. It is easy for researchers to ask how many times a day you smoke the hookah, or how much shisha do you use, but I haven’t seen anything that controls for the differences in technique. I think if you are going to get any reasonable interpretation of the data, you need to control for this in your study. And, finally, as Mush says, it ain’t good for you. But there is much more to it than what has currently been studied. It’s obvious that smoking more is worse than smoking less, some people can smoke tremendous amounts and live to be 103, some people will get lung cancer at 40 from second hand smoke, I shouldn’t drink any alcohol, mountain climbing is dangerous, etc. My frustration is that I haven’t seen any good quantifiable research to answer the question of how dangerous smoking a hookah is. Sorry about the long post.
6. I have two hookahs-one is a Mya Gyro (two piece stem) and my second hookah is a no-name one piece stem hookah. There is no draw back to using the two piece from Mya. It has no leaks and smokes very nicely. I know you said you don't care about the ease of cleaning or portability, but the two piece stem does take a little more time to clean than the one piece because all of the cloisonne parts that have to come off of it. In other words, when you go up to a two piece stem, you might go up to 9 or so diffferent parts that you have to disassemble in order to get the the two piece stem. It really is a significant difference.
7. Al Fakher golden grape-Mya Gyro and japanese coals. I'm drinking a diet minute maid lemonade-for some reason I love these things when I'm smoking.
8. I have the Canary Japaneses coals too. My gas stove came with a rack. So I just cover the burners with the rack and that allows me to place the coals anywhere over the flame without having to hold them. I usually cook them on high for about 2minutes on each side, put them in my coal carrier, take them outside and vigorously blow on them to remove all of the silver covering. My rolland instant lights I just throw away. Those things taste like dog butt.
9. well, I've only smoked 2 AF and they are currently my favorite two shisha (one is grape), but the other is the golden seal eskandarani apple.
10.
Golden Eskandarani Apple Al Fakher Shisha Niiiiiiiiiice.

11. Very nice Mush. Next time I'm in CH I'm coming by. . . . . . . .GO STATE!
12. They are a fire hazard too. I can't remember how many times people caught their dorm rooms on fire from smoking cigarettes. I can imagine a hookah is much more dangerous. 6 students just died in a fire about two weeks ago in a beach town near me. It was a real tragedy. On the other hand. There should be nothing wrong with smoking in an outside area with away from vegetation and dwellings.
13. HookahHookah Melon Setup: 27" Egyptian Base: cool water foil: single layer, 16 holes coal: Rolland QuickLite (only thing I had) cut: looks like wet pipe tobacco smell: like candy taste: like melon candy, ran out after about 35minutes smoke: thick, nice buzz: relaxing overall, this is a 7/10, I probably will not smoke this again unless I am waiting on a delivery of other tobacco that I know is better
14. I have one of their stems. It is poorly assembled. The welds are sloppy and the materials are cheap. Some posters have stated this typical of these designs. If their shisha is the same as HookahHookah shisha, it's pretty bad also. These two brands are sold by my two local shops and is of the same poor quality as their other products. When I am stuck and need to buy from a local shop, I have to use them.
