  1. I bought a kilo from Tarik, and it's good. I'm not a fan of rose, and I can taste in this mix, but it's definitely a good smoke.
  2. Good man You know, you'll never catch your hookah giving you ultimatums on your women.
  3. Layalina has a more subtle taste than, say, Starbuzz, but I've never had a problem with it not tasting... except that one time I forgot to put the coals on the foil
  4. Is it harsh? Heat management could be a problem. If it gets too hot or too cool, you get no flavor. I've met a couple people who thought smoking hookah was supposed to be a little harsh, and since they were used to smoking cigarettes, it never phased them. You want it to be like breathing sweet air. To me, that sounds like a lot of coal, if you have it hanging off the edge. My Fantasia Peach Fuzzy Navel doesn't take a lot of heat to get a good smoke, and I get plenty of flavor out of it. On my KM bowl, I have 1-1 1/2 3k coals (also 33mm) on it, and they don't go off the edge, and are perfect. Try a deep inhale (if it's not harsh), as that provides the best flavor experience, IMO. Another thing to try, which I like to do sometimes, is use your tongue to 'nozzle' the incoming smoke. Basically making it a small hole so it becomes a jet onto your tongue. That gives a nice strong flavor.
  5. Sorry guys, won't be able to make it. I start my job the 21st, and work for the following 7 days.
  6. Shameless plug: Ron Paul REVOLution! He's a consitutionalist, and believes in small government. While no where near a instant fix, which nothing ever is, I feel he is a step in the right direction for our country. Every other candidate, including other Republicans, will just turn this country into more of a dictatorship... in our "beloved" Bush Jr's footsteps. IMNSHO, Ron Paul is the only American candidate. /Shameless plug
  7. QUOTE (Sonthert @ Apr 7 2008, 05:09 PM) You go over to your girlfriends house and find her fucking some strange guy. She says "Don't be mad, I thought he was you, he told me he was you and I can't tell the difference!" So its OK...right...you're not mad at all? If you think you have a right to be mad, then counterfeits are wrong too. If you still think its OK, give me your girlfriend's address, girlfriend's name and your name and I'll go over and tell her I'm you. Hahahahaha
  8. Yeah, pretty awesome... though I melted part of my lighter already
  9. I must agree. Just got an order from them today, I placed it in the wee hours of Saturday morning IIRC.
  10. QUOTE (Khronokai @ Apr 7 2008, 01:22 PM) So, I'm sure this is a very common question, but I've read through as much as I could find, and i can't figure this out. First, I remember my first smoke being very sweet, IE if it was strawberries, it tasted like fresh strawberries. Howeverwith my hookah it tastes like burned/roasted strawberries. Not bad, kind of mellow, but not as flavorful as I remember. I guess first question, is this normal? My major concern however is that after smoking for a while the smoke gets very harsh to where I can't smoke it and becomes very very thick. The shisha is dark/blackened but not ashen (so I don't think it's burning). Here's my process: -Ceramic bowl, lined with Al, shiny side inward. perforated at bottom. -"Sprinkle" shisha in, not packed. (I have appleapple, strawberry, banana flavours) -Cover with Al, shiny side down. Poke with pushpin, one center, four around middle, than four around outter edge. -Use self lighting charcoal, get it hot before placing it on the foil (with a slight push down so it makes contact) then I'm off. I don't know if I'm getting too much airflow, too much heat, should I do less holes? Double Al. on the top? I dunno anymore... First off, the point is to not have the coals touch the shisha. You don't really "burn" the shisha so much as superheat it. In this way, it's different from any other kind of smoking. Secondly, sounds like you're getting too hot. The foil on the inside will heat up and burn your shisha (which is what we don't want, see above), and if that doesn't fix it, try reducing the amount of coals you put on. Break them in half or quarters (before lighting them, of course ) if you need to. It sounds like you are packing your bowl correctly, so just keep aware of the heat. I've had similar issues, and it mostly boiled down to improper heat management. I'm still perfecting mine, and it's different for everyone, based on the types of bowl, shisha, foil, coal... a lot of variables. So find what works for your setup, and I hope you figure it out soon!

  12. Is this something we should congratulate him for? Are you sure this isn't a punishment? Congrats!
  13. Congrats! And unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to the wedding. Amarillo is just too far. Come on, change it to Vegas!
  14. QUOTE (chromecarz00 @ Apr 6 2008, 08:37 PM) I agree with the OP, I have united the ideas in your post, in fact I would love to take a smoke and talk over ideas if you are ever in cali two books you must read; the celestine prophecy and the secret. Where in Cali? I'm from there, originally, and still have friends and family there. I'll probably make my next trip out there this summer.
  15. It was a hafa... does anyone know where I can find a good replacement vase?
  16. Well... I just got my brand new KM a couple days ago. Guess what I did about 5 minutes ago? Broke the @$%^ vase. ... *sigh*
  17. It happens to me on occasion, smoking or not. Never really thought much of it, but gaia's explanation makes sense
  18. See if you can get a hold of one of those laser thermometers, they're used a lot in food service. Measure when idle and when puffing.
  19. I've had issues with bad aftertastes, and it came down to a combination of a dirty hookah and too much heat. Try decreasing the heat to see if that helps? I'm still a neophyte to the hookah world, so I can only speak from my own experiences. Granted, I've never smoked pink lemonade, so it could very well be that flavor.
  20. QUOTE (Scoop @ Apr 4 2008, 04:00 PM) QUOTE (ForeverYoungENT @ Apr 4 2008, 02:46 PM) lol i know MOST of the people at the spot. like I said, I'm not worried about customers. I just wana do something different then the other places. hookah strip club. im down No joke, that's what we need more of. Maybe I can talk Neil into it when I move to Vegas
  21. Aha! Didn't even notice the tape, thanks. Fits a lot better now.
  22. Well I just git my KM from Hookah Company, and must say it looks nice! My only complaint is that the hose, while decorative, seems a little.. low quality. I suppose it's a good thing I bought my Razans The hose has glue all over the puffy things at the end, and just looks crappy. The only other issue so far, is the stem is too thick for the base - I can't put it in all the way. It's due to a little rubber ring on the outside of the gaset, but without the ring, there's no seal. Just something I have to live with, I guess Otherwise, it looks good. I'll let you know how it smokes later when I have a chance to do so.
  23. First, I want to say, I'm not pushing my beliefs in this thread, nor should anyone else. I want this to be a friendly discussion, perhaps to open peoples' minds to non-mainstream spiritual views. I know religion can be a touchy subject, so please be respectful. If this topic doesn't belong here, or gets out of control, I will take no offense in having the thread closed or removed. I have been a spiritual "seeker" for nearly a decade. I'm not sure what I believe so I suppose I am technically agnostic. Here, though I will list some of the things that make the most sense to me. I've studied many religions and am very familiar with a lot of the mainstream ones. A lot of my spare time has been spent studying Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, Taoism, Wicca, and other beliefs. I guess I want to see if anyone thinks the same way I do I don't have a catch-all category for what makes sense to me, but I think a good starting point would be the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. I believe that everything is connected, plants, animals, rocks, elements, and probably many things we don't know about yet. I feel that everything has an "energy" or spirit to it. I believe that any action we take affects everything we know, in some way, quite similar to the Butterfly Effect. I think these basic principles can explain anything, and truly, they make the most sense to me. Everything we do modifies the energy around us, including our thoughts. This is what I think makes telekineses, mind-reading, and other phenomenae possible. I think "vibes" describe this perfectly. I believe that everything is equal and should be treated with the same amount of respect. I feel that eating plants is the same thing as eating meat, you are killing one living thing to sustain another living thing. That's a fact of life. I must say I disagree with the fact that being a vegetarian is any better than eating meat as far as what you're doing to living things is concerned. I do agree with the fact that nothing should suffer or be treated cruelly. I think death is also a part of life, ironically enough, and should not be something seen as negative. I believe that matter cannot be created or destroyed, and feel the same way about energy. What goes around comes around, and nothing or no one ever truly ceases to exist. I can't say that I really believe in a Heaven or a Hell, just that everything kind changes into another form of energy to be reused as another part of this ongoing cycle of life. I wonder if every religion is really just lead to the same conclusions, just said in different words. Everyone has their own interpretations of everything else. Now this is where my core beliefs pretty much stop. They are incomplete, as I can't explain a lot of things, and I don't know if we, as humans, are destroying the Earth or whatnot. Perhaps we are just changing it? Can it truly die? A lot of issues I don't know where to stand, because I'm not entirely sure what right and wrong is in specific contexts. Well, that's all I can think of to write, and my post ends here, for now. Please, tell me if you feel the same way, or have a slightly different idea about things, or just have any general thoughts. Learning what others believe in can really only help my own spiritual growth, so I guess this is a bit selfish. Who knows, if it makes me think, then maybe it'll make others think too?
  24. Nice paper. Hope it reaches far and wide
