  1. I can recommend the German Co Shisha World. My Mya arrived in three days - and VAT free.

If you want to use QL's the general consesnus around here is 3 Kings, Goldens, or even Japanese silver coals. I would hope 5 or 6 coals aren't all on there at once. For my average sized bowl I use 1.5 Goldens when I use QL's (and that's just because I have so many I have never ordered 3 Kings even though some people review them higher). But 5 or 6 coals at once should be scorching your shisha... I put one on to start - then when that is half gone - add another. I then keep it going with 1 1/2 on all the time (ish).

  4. QUOTE (Tikhman @ May 1 2008, 10:03 PM) it will vary with the tobacco and the type of bowl. usually if you are using a standard egyptian bowl you'll burn through most of the shisha in less then 1.5 hours. if you have a phunnel and good quality tobacco, you can often restart it later. you might need to remove some of the burnt stuff first and add a bit of fresh shisha, but for the most part it should be ok. It is when I am using my Mya bowl that I get over two hour smokes, with good thick smoke. Using 5 or 6 QL coals. I am smoking AF tobacco. Sometimes I would prefer to leave it for an hour or so, and then come back to it.
  5. I'm pretty new to Hookah smoking and have a question... I smoke briar pipes using quality tobacco, and in that field of smoking it is ok to leave a pipe for hours on end (overnight even) and start smoking again. Can you leave a Hookah until the coals have burnt out - and then start it off again a few hours later? I am wondering about this because sometimes when I smoke Hookah alone - I don't really want to be puffing away for two hours or more in one session.....
  6. I have placed one order with Shisha Pipe UK - they shipped the same day and I received two days later. Very quick and efficient. My only gripe is that I should have received some free stuff as my order was over £50 - apparently if you don't tick the box claiming your free stuff on checkout, you don't get it. I got some "points" that amount to a .95p discount off my next order. I will use them again.
  7. I had been interested in getting a hookah for a couple of years (being a briar pipe smoker) and about a month ago I bought a cheap "beginners" kit from the hookah shop.co.uk. I also ordered from Shishapipe.co.uk a selection a shisha :- 250gms AF Strawberry 250gms Af Double Apple 250gms Al Waha Mint Two boxes of Mira coals A selection of Soex. The "beginners" kit arrived and I immediately fell in love with Hookah smoking. The pipe is about 20 or so inches tall. I continue with my briars and good flake tobacco - but a hookah is a great way to spend a coupe of hours! I liked it so much that within a week I had ordered a Mya pipe - well when that arrived, if I wasn't totally hooked before, I was then. The pipe is a beauty. I use my small pipe basically as a "desktop" pipe, and it smokes fine. I tend to get the Mya out to smoke with my fiancee (who loves the double apple, but then she is a licorice and aniseed adict - Licorice Allsorts being her favourite confection.) Of the Shisha tried so far..... the four samples that came with the "beginner kit" - they were thrown away - they were awful. God knows what they were..... The AF Strawberry & Double Apple are great. The Al Waha mint - well it's ok, good, but not great. I have tried Nakhla Cherry, that is good (I found a shop local to me that sells it). Also the Soex orange, I must admit, that although not tobacco - I like it. My next move I suppose will be to try out natural coal (the Turkish shop near to me sells it) I believe that this will be a step in the right direction. Well that is my story so far - and really I would like to thank the members of this forum - I learned a great deal from reading here. Happy Smoking Guys / Gals Alan

  10. Hi Everyone, I have made a few posts already, and thought that my introduction is now in order. You have a great Forum here, with loads of knowledge being shared - I like that. Also banter, and the forum is moderated, but not too tightly - I also like that. I have been a pipe smoker for 34 years (that is briar pipe with good tobaccos) - in the last few weeks I have been trying out Hookah smoking, and I love it. I have tried AF tobaccos (and really like them) and some really awful stuff that came free with my first Hookah - that has been thrown away - don't ask me what it was, it was in a plastic container with no name on it - but it really was BAD! I will continue to smoke my briars (and Meers), but at the end of a day - a Hookah is soooo relaxing. I like Hookah smoking so much that I have just ordered a better pipe (I hope) - a Mya. Hopefully it will be with me in the next few days. [attachment=1302:4427_1202134666.jpg] I am looking forward to many hours of pleasure here with you all. Thanks...
  11. Hi Guys, just thought that I would let you all know which Mya I ordered (Thanks to Billy for giving me a link to a supplier to UK). I spent hours & hours seeking out UK based Mya suppliers - apparently they do not exist....... [attachment=1301:4427_1202134666.jpg] It is at present on its way from Germany to the UK. Happy Smoking Guys/Gals.....
  12. QUOTE (lofly44 @ Apr 1 2008, 10:34 AM) i looked into it a bit more, and along with the mentioned herbs, a majority of it is comprised of sugarcane leaves and stem. on the tobacco note, 3% of the weight of a tobacco leaf is nicotine, nicotine disrupts the cell cycle. if a cell becomes cancerous(unable to control its rate of consumption or growth) it would normally kills itself. this happens all the time, unfortunately nicotine destroys this cycle and leaves the cancerous cells unchecked. i wish it werent so, but it is. -Josh I always understood that the Nic does not cause cancer (but does cause addiction & possible heart problems). Cancer is caused by the carcinogens which come from the tars being smoked.
  13. Many thanks Billy - that link is exactly what I was looking for. I will let you all know what I go for......
  14. Thanks for that Guys. Here in the UK there are very few online suppliers - I am after a Mya in a case. I have had no luck finding anyone selling these Hookahs - and resorted to the Bay. I will pass on this auction.
  15. Could anyone ID this Hookah? Also an indication of its value as new please. It stands eleven inches high. [attachment=1295:1047_1.jpg]
