  1. Yes I love it. I have hose caps on the end so I can smoke by myself. Big chamber and vase. Smokes wonderfully.
  2. Small amount of milk in the vase. Powdered coffee creamer works, cool the smoke with an ice chamber, or chill your hookah in the freezer (no liquid in the vase). Better manage your heat with more better placed coal. etc. just search thickener, or thick smoke. you'll get alot
  3. How exactly do these funnel bowls work? I've heard that they're alot better than normal bowls if you can get it right. How is it different? and Do tangiers have to be smoked out of a funnel bowl or can they smoke from a normal bowl?
  4. Put your favorite flavor/vase combinations here, give everyone some good ideas. My personal favorite is Pineapple head, SB Margarita tobacco, with Margarita Mix in the vase diluted with orange juice instead of alcohol. ...
  5. they're all over the place on Call Of Duty 4 (I only play on xbox360 or I'd post a screenshot)
  6. Thanks guys, and my apologies on not being able to find the term elsewhere on your site.
  7. QUOTE (Tikhman @ Apr 22 2008, 08:35 PM) hookah-shisha has hose covers, personally I think they are a bit expensive, but its your call. Would you suggest I have them made? HS doesn't list the length of the cover, so that's out of the question.
  8. I wonder if this would work on the tobacco. Just blow directly onto the foil with a few holes.
  9. I did this with a set of expensive MAG light flashlights. Use whatever case you have, or order an inexpensive large camera case. It is not made for any type of camera and usually has really good foam on the inside to mold whatever out of. Typically there are 1x1 inch squares that you can just tear off to mold it to whatever you need. If not you can use the foam. I would check google for camera case padding, there should be a few results there for your liking.
  10. I have a Lunar pipe with a ice catch mod and a diffuser. I like it alot and want to make it look even better than it already does. Hose covers are my only affordable option. I have 4: 74" hoses and need covers. Does anyone know where I can get some covers, or how to make them. I was thinking about sewing some (but then I realized I have no clue how to sew and it would most likely be more effective to buy from somewhere). Does anyone else have issues finding hose covers for such a long hose?
  11. This may seem like a stupid question, but I have never tried Tangiers and I hear it is great, good buzz, long lasting flavor. But it sounds very picky until you get it down perfectly. I think I am up to that, but I hear you have to acclimate it. What does that mean? I think you are supposed to let it "air out" or something, but I figured I would ask before I tried something and did it terribly wrong. I havn't seen what it means around the forums with a quick read.
  12. QUOTE (Johnny_D @ Apr 20 2008, 12:17 PM) QUOTE (TubaTrav2010 @ Apr 20 2008, 06:36 PM) Whenever I let my shisha touch my foil (which is primarily touching the coal) the shisha gets stuck in my holes that are in the foil making dragging extremely hard to do. Should I just experiment, or is there a good tutorial somewhere I should look at. I am baffled. Have a quick look at :- And these are my holes :- And my coals atop :- Give something like that a whirl? Thanks, Im about to load up again and I'll see how it works out for me. The problem may be that I am poking very small holes for my foil. I use a safety pin. So that may be a big deal of the problem with the dragging roughness. Is it better to use a fork ( i am a huge fan of oyesters, so I have a fine fork for that) I'll try that out with larger holes. Thanks!!
  13. Also shiny side down, not alot of the fumes actually get into the pipe. But yes, metal or glass screens are the way to go.
  14. QUOTE (Johnny_D @ Apr 20 2008, 11:25 AM) Too much heat then. Have a read around. There is no need to worry about foil touching coals. In fact you may be underpacking the bowl under the incorrect illusion that coal should avoid tobacco. Please remember that the original setup called for coal to Sit DIRECTLY on the tobacco. Just a thought. JD Whenever I let my shisha touch my foil (which is primarily touching the coal) the shisha gets stuck in my holes that are in the foil making dragging extremely hard to do. Should I just experiment, or is there a good tutorial somewhere I should look at. I am baffled.
  15. QUOTE (waterboi @ Apr 20 2008, 12:03 PM) Sounds like you maybe letting the shisha get burned or too hot. When it starts getting harsh do you remove coals or anything? Also when you pack you bowl is the shisha touching the foil or are you not putting enough shisha in the bowl? When the sisha touches the foil it always seals up and makes dragging extremely hard to do. So I usually let anywhere between 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch between shisha and foil. When it gets harsh I do take off coal, but the harshness is still there. I broke up the olivewood into brick sized pieces, and usually I use anywhere between 3-5 pieces on the big bowl and 2-4 pieces on the mediums. Should I switch to a cooler burning coal or is it the bowl?
  16. QUOTE (SimplexCoda @ Apr 20 2008, 12:02 PM) QUOTE (TubaTrav2010 @ Apr 20 2008, 10:39 AM) Ice Chamber/catch. it's a fairly large chamber of ice that the smoke travels through. And as to answer the smoke moving too fast, it adds about a foot to the overall size of your pipe. (the actual device is only like 4-8 inches tall) but it works like a coolant system for your car. the smoke travels through a tube that is surrounded in ice, the tube curves and twists around in the chamber. The smoke is still moving the same speed, just takes longer to exit the ice chamber. I went ahead and ordered both, just for kicks and giggles, so Ill be posting on how they work on wednesday or something around there. Does anyone know of anything else that is designed to improve your smoke? possible an attatchment or something I can add to my existing pipe? I know know what it does I own a Mash'al they have an ice chamber I just wanted to make sure you were talkin about the same thing I was thinking. Personally, my ice chamber does cool the smoke at al. It does however make it considerably denser. As for the diffuser. I have two different ones that I use on and old hookah. One is homemade and one is the heba. I perferre my homemade one. I find it to work much better than the heba. I love to use my diffuser on my old hookah. Of course I rarely use my old hookah any more. I loved it for two reasons. In that hookah the smoke seemed a little grainy to me. Not with the diffuser. Smooth as a baby's bottom. The other reason is i love to use tea bags in the base and with the diffuser it pickes up the tea taste 10x better. I have never thought of using tea in the vase, but, it sounds well if you have a fruit in the head or something. Like a lemon tea, or peach. Cool, Ill try that sometime. What tobacco do you use?
  17. QUOTE (waterboi @ Apr 20 2008, 11:41 AM) Are you having problems getting good smoke? Maybe tell us what coals and shisha and hookah you use. No it's not a problem of good or bad smoke, usually it's my lack of loading bowls the same time every time. But for the most part is smokes amazing. I am quite unsure of the brand, but it's a 26-30" 4 hose rotator, using a medium ceramic bowl. or a large clay bowl, I have a metal bowl but I hate it. A good majority of the times it gets really harsh through the smoke, and I was looking for ways to rid of the harshness and bring on the smoothness. I use RedKastle Olive Wood natural coal heated on an electric coil in my kitchen. Usually I smoke starbuzz, but am thinking of starting the long process of perfecting tangiers.
  18. I was just wondering what the difference in the experience was, does it add alot of anything to your smoke? I know alot of the tangiers smokers use phunnels, and I had no clue what it was until the pics were posted every here. Just curious the pros and cons of it.
  19. QUOTE (cassinho @ Jan 21 2008, 08:52 PM) asa someone told you before, i guess the harder thing about this is to emulate the increase temperature the coal get when you inhale, probably you can makae something that will be always that hot but that probably will burn your shisha way to much Almost like how an electric stove coil burns only when needed (to a specific temp), would there be a way to sense the inhale of the gases to turn the coil on, but ya, constant head would burn it way too much. Ill stick with my natural coal until something better comes out.

  21. What are your opinions on the catches, diffusers, and any product to increase your smoke?
  22. QUOTE (SimplexCoda @ Apr 19 2008, 03:44 PM) I think either scoop or snoopy or someone made a cid and put it on youtbue but i dont remember what it is or whatever. Also Msuhrat had a post specifically about him making one from a pineapple. Its somewhere here. Thanks. ill be looking but for anyone else with quick ideas, if you want to continue to post, feel free.
  23. Clearly there are limitations on what you can make a head out of. It has to be rigid and withstand that amount of heat for at least a bowl. I am coming up with a custom Pineapple concoction with chilled hoses, pineapple juice in the vase, and a pineapple head with a well mixed citrus fruit in the head. How does one make a fruit bowl? Pictures or just comments would be a huge help.
  24. I am quite unsure of my hookah brand, I bought it from a friend, it's about a 26" (estimation) and it is a 4 hose rotary. Using a Medium Clay bowl (no funnel) packing not too lightly, but not hard at all. The tobacco burns and torches very quickly when I am smoking where the coal is placed on the dual layered thin foils. Is there something wrong with my coal placement (usually 3-4 1-2.5" pieces on the oustide and a 2" piece in the center). Any comments on my faults are welcome. New at this, but not so much to hookah, almost 2 years now.
