  1. QUOTE (mattarios2 @ Jun 14 2009, 09:15 PM) QUOTE (TheHookah.com @ Jun 14 2009, 03:08 PM) Nakhla is a dry tobacco. It is not supposed to be wet. It has been that way ever since I can remember and it is the same in the Middle East. garbage ... i have family in the middle east that smoke shisha ... they say their nakhla is pretty wet no where near the dryness of what we get here ... not complaining as nakhla is my main smoke ... dry or not ... check out bulldogs photo of his can of DA in this thread linked below ... it isn't random that he got the can with that much juice in it ... that is the way it is supposed to be http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=29374 That looks pretty normal to be, the cans and the glass jars tend to be a little more wet than the box. That can does not seem out of the ordinary for Nakhla as far as moisture. They came out with the Mizo line to compete with gulf brands such as Al Fakher but Nakhla is a dry tobacco in comparison. That is just the way it was meant to be and there nothing wrong with that. Nakhla is the most consistent shisha brand I have seen to date. That double apple has smelled the same since I was a kid watching family friends smoke it in a good ol' Egyptian pipe.

  3. Glad you are happy with the hookah. I personally have the same one and love using it every time. Easy to clean and maintain and is a great size, small but heavy and hits like a beast. The blemishes are inevitable. They are basically a result of the polish residue missed in the polishing process. When getting a hand made hookah, you are asking for imperfections but that's what makes it even more beautiful. If you were to compare the finish of a KM to a modern Chinese hookah, it does not even compare. I however personally like the fact that they do not have a perfect finish. It just reminds me that someone made that hookah with their best intentions regardless of the minor flaws or blemishes which may have occurred along the way. Every KM hookah tells a story, and every story is slightly different from the other. Thank you for the detailed review. I am sure you will enjoy that hookah for a very long time.
  4. Just wanted to let everyone know that we did not forget about you. We will notify the selected three applicants by Monday. Thank you for all your support.
  5. QUOTE (Victim026 @ Mar 19 2009, 04:23 AM) The ones from gothookahs should be safe, but be weary of the ones on thehookah.com, this latest shipment of KM's have had some quality issues. I would watch hookahcompany though, they are supposed to be getting a new shipment any day now that's top notch stuff. Stop spreading these rumors!!! All KMs come from the same place. There are different models which may slightly vary in weight, finish etc... However all alike models are made the same way and are manufactured by the same craftsmen. Just stop spreading these rumors unless you have purchased all of the models from us and have come to that conclusion. If you are basing your opinion on the small Heart of Lion then you are being very biased because those are obviously lighter, smaller and made to be portable. I extend an invitation to any of the locals to come to our warehouse and see all of the models we carry before forming an opinion. Better yet I challenge anyone on here to dispute the quality of our KMs so much so that I am willing to give out 3 models for review purposes at half price. A detailed review must be written or the deal is off -- Any takers??? Email me if you are interested. Sorry to sound defensive but I would like to put these rumors to rest once and for all.
  6. QUOTE (Hippo_Master @ Mar 10 2009, 06:03 AM) QUOTE (wpw36 @ Mar 9 2009, 10:59 PM) QUOTE (Hippo_Master @ Mar 9 2009, 01:35 PM) As i stated before, get a Syrian! MZ's are all-in-all just generic, there's absolutely nothing special about them. KM's are pretty crappy now, but still have higher quality parts then generic rigs and MZ hookah. KM's are getting more expensive and also crappier; people will still buy them though, they have a brand-name (remember we live in America). The older AF rigs are nicer than the newer ones, but the newer ones are still much nicer than anything you will be able to buy anywhere in the US for awhile. Give AFonline a call and maybe they have them in stock? I think they have a phone number.. I really do not see the point in spending 80 bucks on a MZ rig when that 80 bucks can go towards either 2 generic egyptians or a brass Syrian rig. ok not to be an ass but hippo have you smoked an mz? i have one and also a km exotica and frankly my mz feels more sturdy and in my opinion smokes better than my km Yup which is why I try to keep people away from them. You can get a generic hookah on Caravansarai on ebay for 40 bucks and save 30-40 bucks and get the same or better hookah. There's no way an MZ can feel sturdier than a KM, if you cut the hose ports off and set them on a balance scale the KM would fall to the tabletop. There is no difference between MZ's and any other generic hookahs. That is not true. There is a big difference especially in the welds. MZs and KMs have the best welds found on any Egyptian hookah on the market due to the technology they use and the type of welding used. Many other hookah manufacturers can't afford to duplicate it. The machinery and materials are too costly for their level. MZs are a little lighter than KMs they however have a very nice finish and are still very well made. The KMs tend to be more raw and ruff around the edges but are beautiful pipes and of great great great quality compared to other pipes on the market. What's this with the KM quality going down anyway! They are still some of the best pipes on the market and are built like a rock. There is a reason for their reputation which still holds to this day. If anything quality has been improved in order to cater to the demands of the western market. I own some KMs which are 10-15 years old. I can tell you that the newer age KMs are more polished and refined. For example the way the top of the stem is finished off and the bell on the bottom of the down stem. Those are both fairly new inventions which did not exist on the older KMs. You will not be disappointed with either brand. It's just a matter of the look you want. Some generic Egyptians are also very nice and will last you for years to come.
  7. The multi-hose KMs smoke just as good as a 1 hose. When not in mutli-hose use, you can plug the unused hose ports with the provided plugs and it will function just like a single hose. The purge valve is included and it is not a common chamber system which means each hose port is connected to the vase through its own pathway. When in multi-hose mode, you will have to use the thumb over the hose method which many people think works better than an auto-seal system. Hope this information help in making your decision. Besides we have not heard any negative reviews on the mutli-hose KMs.
  8. QUOTE (ColibriDon @ Feb 21 2009, 06:17 PM) QUOTE (AKammenzind @ Feb 21 2009, 01:08 PM) QUOTE (ColibriDon @ Feb 21 2009, 11:27 AM) As far as the autoseal adaptor, I am trying to imitate the Mya autoseal system which is really simple and see if I can implement it here. I think I'll have to drill a hole into the hose port to get a screw in, drop a ball bearing in and see if it will work. I am nervous about doing this as I'm sure you can understand. haha My idea should work though as Mya does the exact same thing. The only problem will be finding the right size ball bearing...and actually drilling the hole. Why on earth would you do that? If you really feel the need for an auto-seal (which you shouldn't, it'll most likely add to the draw) then just mod it into your hose... Mainly because I hadn't thought about doing that to my hose but that would work. Also, this was just an idea, but I will probably experiment with the spare crappy mya hoses I have laying around. Hmmm...thanks for the idea. haha Be careful with that. Those hose ports are way larger than the hose ports on a Mya so the screw and ball bearing idea may just not work. Besides I wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly fine hookah. I would recommend experimenting with other methods (no drilling please)!!! Can't wait to see what you can come up with. Some detailed images would be nice.
  9. QUOTE (echotc @ Feb 21 2009, 04:41 AM) this is great to hear, I'm back to being excited about my order coming in You very well should be. The HOL trimetal is beautiful!
  10. Here is a detailed write up on authenticity and KMs in general. Hope it helps. http://www.thehookah.com/pages.php?pageid=38
  11. Hi guys It's been a long time!!! I just want to say that we value every ones opinion on this forum, we however don't want this thread to seem like a bash on KM products and our company. I am sure that I speak for other vendors as well since they as well carry the same products. It is also apparent in online forum history that rumors usually start by that one thread which pertains to an isolated incident. As the owner of TheHookah.com I would like to give you my personal guarantee that the current KM batch is just as good if not better than any other KMs in previous shipments. KM does not compromise on quality nor is it easy for any other manufacturer to copy the KM quality in their metal work and especially in their welding. If you ordered a KM from us, please inspect it upon opening your package and if you are not satisfied for any reason give us a call and we will gladly accept your return (shipping paid) as long as the hookah has not been used. That's how confident we are in the quality. On another note, I honestly think that much of the misconception on KMs is the level of expectation from people who have never owned or seen a KM or other Egyptian hookah in person before. There are a few things to consider and expect when buying a KM. As most of you may know, the tri-metals as well as the full cast stems are heavier than the all of the other KMs because of the way they are manufactured and the amount of metal used to make them. In addition the Small HOLs (22" and 23") are not made the exact same way as the bigger KMs because they are intended to be lighter and more portable. You cannot compare the small HOLs to the rest of the KMs because they fall in a different class. Not saying that they are of inferior quality, just meant to be lighter and more portable. A KM is a hand made product and inconsistencies will always be a factor. For more information on this I recommend reading our KM disclaimer on the following page http://www.thehookah.com/pages.php?pageid=38. As far as the multi-hose KMs. They are built the same way as any other larger KM in addition to more hose ports. There is no common chamber and the purge valve is included as well. I would also like to clarify that KMs found on other vendors websites are most likely from the same distributor with different glass fitted to them which are all ultimately from the same factory. Some stated that there will be a decline in the KM quality. My question to them is how do you even know that having never been to the KM factory nor dealt with the Mamoon family personally. I am just asking you to isolate every scenario and not jump to conclusions based on rumors, other people's opinions or other isolated incidents. It just isn't fair to the vendors, be it ourselves or any other. We have sold over 100 KMs in the past 3 weeks and in all honesty this is the first time we hear a complaint. All the people who have walked in to our warehouse have fallen in love with at least one KM model immediately. We like to think that hookah smoking encourages intellect and individuality. So come on people... Think for yourself and don't jump on the KM hate bandwagon just because someone had a bad experience!!! Those who have bought a KM from us and are happy please speak up and prove these rumors wrong!!! Happy Smoking you guys!!! (From a KM I hope)
  12. QUOTE (Snoopy1966 @ Aug 17 2008, 11:39 PM) OK he has clarified that he is not repackaging Tangiers. Hope you guys got a kick out of ripping us apart for a few minutes
  13. Strawberry Daiquiri, X on the Beach, Blue Mist are very popular and very tasty. Then again almost all of the Starbuzz flavors are great.
