  1. QUOTE (jezter6 @ Sep 2 2008, 04:09 PM) I don't have direct experience with the vortex, but the phunnel is awesome. I don't have a mod, but I will buy one to save some shisha as the small phunnel is stil huge. A quick search (awesome tool on here) brought up this subject a couple times: http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=24248 http://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=24001 You may want to search on your own and you might find more threads on the same topic for your research. I totally agree with you the phunnel bowl is truly amazing. I've had mine for less than a week but I've already smoked it a hundred times. I havent heard much about the vortex but a few posts on the net have posted the vortex is good but not as good as the phunnel bowl. I have a medium sized phunnel and I also have the scalli mod for my bowl. Never had a problem with it and has produced the biggest clouds and best flavor I've ever smoked from a hookah. I am also using Coconara coals and I am putting coconut milk in the base for thicker smoke as well. I would definetelysay get a phunnel bowl if you dont have one!
  2. QUOTE (flick92 @ Aug 15 2008, 03:33 PM) Thats a nice hookah. If you do find a site let us know!!!! Oh absolutely how could I not share the amazing wealth!
  3. Hey I've been hearing a lot about the phunnel bowls lately and how great they are and I was thinking of purchasing one. However, I have heard a few things about the new Vortex bowl.....so I wanted to get some opinions and see which one provides a better smoking experience which makes us all very happy! So if you have any knowledge or have smoked either type of bowl some assistance would be nice, thanks!
  4. Plus I knew if I posted this hookah there would be other people that would enjoy it as much as I do and that rocks
  5. I live in the Flower Mound, Lewisville area in north texas
  6. QUOTE (mushrat @ Aug 10 2008, 12:03 PM) El Ghool, my big brass one, smokes like a champ. That's an awesome hookah. Did you order it online??
  7. QUOTE (SimplexCoda @ Aug 9 2008, 07:48 PM) I dont think your gonna find one like that online. I think thats one of those "Only in Saudi items." But its freakin beautiful. If you ever get the chance to go back you should pick up a few of these bad boys and im sure there would be more than a couple of people here on the forum that would be happy to buy them. Yeah I think you're right, and the thing is this hookah was pretty cheap and it was, and still is, a brand new hookah, never been smoked. And I love it only because I don't know anyone else who's hookah comes close to it but I just wish I could find an easier way to get them!
  8. Does anyone know of a website that I could order an original Arabic hookah? I have one right now that has never been used, that was brought directly for Saudi Arabia years ago, and I havent decided yet if I want to smoke out of it or not. I think I'd rather have this one for decoration and smoke out of another one
  9. QUOTE (mattathayde @ Aug 7 2008, 06:15 PM) the water doesnt really doesnt filter a whole lot, its more so there to cool it. amount of water shouldnt mater except for how hard you pull but honestly i think diameter of hose is a bigger deal than most other stuff try packing the bowl softer, the shisha should be very fluffy, pull it all apart and drop it into the bowl, dont pudh it down much if at all (basically just tap it a little to make sure its not sticking up if you have some extra bits up high. if that doesnt work try more coal -matt Thats why I like Cobra hoses, they always have seemed to pull better than the more narrow standard hoses. Plus I think more smoke is caught in the chamber and you can inhale more when you take slower pulls, not to mention it keeps you more relaxed which is what hookah is all about! And here's a hint for packing a bowl as well. When you are done packing the bowl and you put the screen, or foil, on the top blow into the bottom of the bowl. This will keep the fluffiness of the shisha in the bowl giving you a better pull every time. It has worked every time for me plus you dont have to worry about packing the bowl too tight or hard!
  10. QUOTE (ronald_dooley @ Aug 2 2008, 02:05 PM) QUOTE (piperjason @ Aug 2 2008, 02:08 PM) I was just curious when you all consider your bowl to be "done". I find that the shisha starts to smoke and burn before it all is charred. Most of it is but the bottom still has some juicy left. Is that just how it is? It is a bowl/setup problem? If you pack your bowl correctly and manage heat correctly, you don't have to "repack" and refluff ever. A session is done beyond doubt when the smoke gets thinner and you take the foil off and see that the shisha is burned on top and fairly dry at the bottom. If it is still juicy/wet at the bottom, the bowl is far from over. If the smoke is harsh, though, then it's a packing/heat-management problem. I agree with you. That is how I have always done it. A well packed bowl will go without repacking, or moving around, if you have proper ventilation and "fluffiness"
  11. QUOTE (soco9konstantine @ Aug 7 2008, 06:08 PM) i've used coke with cola shisha. its the bomb but it was a pain to clean Yeah youre right that is the bomb hands down! Thats right up there at the top of my favorites list!
  12. Soda is alright in the base but just a warning never fill the base with that powdered raspberry iced tea and water! Not a good idea! Me and my friend tried it once and will never do it again! It was a bad hookah experience and I havent had many.
  13. Parents can be pretty hypocritical! My mom smoked in college and she said she didnt want me smoking, however, I do anyways because I enjoy it. My parents and I just dont talk about it really anymore. They know I smoke but they just dont want to hear about it or talk to me about it. So it just kind of stays in the background!
  14. Well this doesnt have to do with a movie but for you gamers I did notice a Hookah on a table, in a room on a second floor of a building, in the new Call Of Duty 4 game! And I thought that was pretty epic so I just wanted to throw that out there! I've never seen a hookah in a game!
  15. Let me know what your favorite flavors are to mix or why you think its the best company! Just leave comments I'm trying to figure out what I like best! Thanks!
