1. As Tom said, it's not just buildup. The coils actually decay and eventually fail. I have been getting a year and a half out of a portable burner before it will fail. Stove burners typically are a bit bigger, so probably more surface area to degrade, hence the longer life (and probably a better quality burner to start with).
2. Most shower heads have a 2gpm (or whatever the standard is now) orifice in the shower head just inside where you thread it onto the pipe in your shower. That can typically be removed and enlarged with a drill to give you higher pressure/flow from a standard shower head. I have a really nice rainfall style shower head that was so-so until I drilled out the orifice. Just look for something that looks like a washer, but is made from (usually) hard plastic. Don't remove the actual gasket, or the shower head will leak.
3. My must haves are: Tangiers lucid - static starlight - sour grape - horchata -mimon Nakhla - mizo guava -double apple -scherzade margarita -el basha grape (similar to tang sour grape) JM's - rum and cola - pink lemonade Starbuzz - blue mist
4. If you're having trouble getting big clouds, try putting the windcover on to get it started. I've been putting a pair of chopsticks on the tray, then setting the windcover over that. It gives you some extra heat, but holds the windcover up a little. Tones it down just a bit to keep things from burning.
5. I did this tonight with a small phunnel bowl and nakhla margarita. The smoke was decent, but I won't say it was amazing. The flavor did last a very long time though. I'll give it a try again soon on a few other varieties of nakhla to compare. It's a hell of a lot easier to get prepared than my usual hole method.
6. If you know anyone that has young kids, baby food jars work well, as do the rectangular plastic containers that some types of baby food comes in. And they're free.
7. I've had a few varieties that I picked up at jungle jim's. It's not bad. It's somewhat dry by comparison to most shisha you'd pick up. The vanilla reminds me a lot of pipe tobacco. My overall impression was they weren't bad, but not worth buying twice.
8. It's an indian or pakistani hookah, probably used for tombiek. Not worth a whole lot, and not really that great for smoking IMHO. I have one, not very good draw on it, and the bowl won't work for normal shisha. If you want it for decoration or for the novelty, go for it. If you want it for a daily use hookah, I'd tell you to pass. Here's a thread on a nearly identical hookah. Also pictures of mine in the thread. 9. I've found if I underpack, but compact the shisha to the same density that I would otherwise, that it works very well. As a bonus, the foil stays clean.
10. I use the same foil over and over if the shisha hasn't stuck to it. At one point, I think I got about 30 uses out of one piece. Saves the time and hassle of punching new holes in the foil.
11. For me, I'm in a tossup between mizo guava, and tangiers lucid static starlight. Both are amazing. Guava was the biggest surprise though, as I figured it would be just ok. It's fantastic.
12.
JM. Their pink-lemonade and hawaiian punch flavors are outstanding.
I'm a big fan of the rum and cola flavor as well. I was dissapointed by amaretto, and pina colada was so-so at best.
13.

there's never been a day in my adult life without nicotine or caffeine....
same... i decided to give up my beloved Dr Pepper for weight loss. I drink enough coffee (black) in a day to make most people hemorrhage. Now that I got my Kuerig and my QT so easy to clean... It's constant intake when I get home!
I love my keurig. I got one at work, and I constantly have people coming to my office for a cup of coffee. I need to start charging. Amazon usually has good deals on the k-cups. My favorite so far out of the 3 dozen or so varieties I've had is the green mountain organic expresso roast. Good stuff.
14. I went to a wine festival the other day, and they had an Ed Hardy wine booth there. Apparently they're selling a line of wines as well. I guess if someone will buy it....
15. I liked the rum and coke flavor a lot. Amaretto was not very flavorful, somewhat of a disappointment. Pina colada was good, but I wouldn't order again. I'll keep rum and coke stocked, neither of the other two i've had. The one thing I did like about all three was that they could take a lot of heat, and the smoke did not get harsh.
16. I like the CH coals, but I like the cocos better. The cocos last a bit longer, seem to give off a little more heat (can be a plus or minus), ash less, and don't smell when you light them. The last is the most important to me. In the summer the CH coals are fine because I can put the coil burner outside. With the cocos I can leave the burner inside.
17. Is the shop in cincy? I've been looking for a reasonably priced local. Not that I really need to buy more hookah stuff.
18. What hose cover did you use that fit over the sweatbands on the nammor? The cover I have is way too small in diameter to work on one.
19. I like the looks of mine, and I used it for a while as it was my first hookah. I'd never use it again though. Draw is tight, and the four hose ports are a pain unless you use stoppers. It's neat to have around however.
20. The lucid sour grape and lucid static starlight are my two favorites right now. I'm rationing them though, so I can burn through some of my other stash.
21. Here is mine. It's not 4 feet tall like the one you have, much smaller than that. For all I know, the downpipe might have just been made out of a dowel so it could be used as a normal hookah. The bowl is quite big, so I'd probably agree it was for tombiek or something like that.
22. Looks a lot like a cheap indian one that I picked up several years ago. I don't think they're terribly good. Mine looks very similar and has a wooden downstem. Might have been broken off or rotted away on that one.
23. In the pic, the label says sindbad, with the extra D in there. I found a couple of german sites with sindbad listed. Haven't polished up on my german in a few years though.
24. We smoked some rum and cola flavor the last two nights. I was impressed. Cut was pretty fine, I packed it in a med phunnel though, so it didn't matter. I've been packing everything fairly tight. It takes more heat than tangiers, not as much as Naklha, similar to an AF. I tried canaries, exoticas (three 1/5 sticks) and coco coals. The exoticas did the best but slightly cool, three cocos were getting close to too hot, and couldn't get much smoke with three canaries and a windcover. The rum and cola flavor was mostly cola. The rum component didn't hit much till later in the bowl. The flavor was good though. We used the med phunnel for about 3.5 hours, with good flavor the whole time. Twoards the end it was more of a rum bite with less cola flavor. Having added it to a HJ order on a whim, I was pretty happy. I don't know that it will be a staple in my collection, but I'd buy it again.
25. I use some really nice glass and stainless steel containers that IKEA sells. They run $2.99 each.
