My Favorite Flavor of hookah is definately "Bob Marley" its a mix of blue mist and sex on the beach. It is super good, super smooth, and you can smoke it for a while without it going bad. I havnt really found a GREAT brand of coals, but if its instant lites, I just throw them out or give them to a friend because they make the hookah taste like ass. haha. With Flavor I like Paradise tobacco. they are an excellent brand if you want a long lasting hookah, I suggest half paradise, and half starbuzz, since starbuzz is only for flavor, not duration. Your thoughts?

My question is, I see all these reviews where people are using like 4 coals or more! In what way is that possibly necessary? I use one coconara and if i use Q.L.'s cause' I'm out of my good coals, i use then maybe two. Is it the setup? I feel like all my shisha would burn away... I will say this, I used to not think much about wind covers, until I got one. Now I use only 1 coal, and definitely only one. I used to use two, but I just can't fathom 4 or more. What possibly is the reason you would need to use so many? Someone please explain this to me, it bothers me because I can't find any logic in it. Further more, I believe in the best coals, shisha, and hoses. And while nice expensive hookah's are ideal, I don't believe they are entirely necessary. I have a $30 hookah that is nice and airtight, and the hits i get are phenomenal. I'm sure I will buy a expensive one when I fall in love with it, but for now I'm content. And as a last note, do you think it is embarassing if I shoot videos/reviews with said $30 hookah? Haha, I don't say a lot because I don't feel like speaking on something I know nothing about, but I feel as if any information I do offer would be quite noteworthy. So if I post, will I look like a jerk because I have a cheap set-up? Will people disregard my opinions because of this set-up? Any thoughts, comments, tips; much appreciated. Take it easy! -D.S.

Just wanted to throw people a heads up, as I work with ebay for my job I've noticed over the past few months that hookah "accessories" have become more prevalent just a few things worth noting. 1) Coals, are a frack ton cheaper on ebay, i recently purchased an order of 4 kilos of Chronic coals for 9 dollars each or 36 bucks and with $10 USPS priority mail shipping. Ive also seen coconaras for around 10 dollars per 108 pack in bulk... just search around a bit under the term hookah... 2) Hoses, pretty each to find on there, have yet to see many washables but have seen a couple of the official Nammor brand hoses sold on there for around 12 with low shipping. 3) Dont buy phunnels, alot of those on there now, but none are official tangiers phunnels. Ive purchased 2 off of ebay and neither worked right and were cheap build quality. And the majority of sellers ive tried to confirm with respond with "Tangiers?" 4) Shisha packs, if you want a brand like Hydro, they are dirt cheap on ebay if purchased in bulk. Have yet to see more than Nakhla mint on there in terms of noticable brands, but it is getting there if you'd rather use MF. 5) Hookahs, ive seen KM's used go for $40-60 on average, near mint, 36" + in size. There are also new hookahs of all brands on there, around the same price but with minimal shipping... Just thought id let people know

Hey! So I was talking to this buddy in another city yesterday (about hookah of course) and he said that the lounges there use natural lumpwood charcoal used for grilling and they are the cleanest for smoking hookah. First I argued with him that one should only use charcoal meant specifically for hookah, but then I remembered reading Hass's reviews of the lounges in lebanon and that he was a fan(?) of such coals. Now I always use coals meant for hookah, but the coals I get here aren't exactly great. They are chinese coals with some silver shit on them that I scrape off with the tongs before putting them on the bowl, but the idea intrigued me and I started looking around, and found that the coals that should not be used for hookah are bbq briquettes or the ones which use self lighting liquids and such, but grilling charcoal (lumpwood) are okay to use. The problem is that I don't quite know what lump wood coals are, so I can't be sure if these are that. These are the coals used normally for cooking and grilling. I found them in the store room. As I got ready for my evening session (smoking AF mint right now), I was determined to give these a shot and lit two of the decent sized ones (size of your regular sized coals, though uneven in shape) along with 2 of my regular coals just in case these smelled during smoking. On a coil burner, they took about 8 minutes to light, flipped at 5 minute mark. I put them on the bowl and waited for 5 minutes, and then took my first pull, and indeed, they did not taste, as a matter of fact, they didn't smell at all during lighting them too. They must have been putting out decent heat, as I got great clouds in my third pull. Coming to the texture, these are light weight, possibly wood coals, and not as dense as my regular coals. I smoked for 10 minutes using these and they did not impart any coal taste to my tobacco and I was getting great clouds, and then I took them off and replaced them with my regular coals, because I didn't want to waste the coals I had lit, and because I first wanted to confirm here that I wasn't harming myself using these. So, are these okay to use with a hookah?

http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-9922-fantasia-air-flow-natural-hookah-coals-box-45.html saw the above - anyone see coals like this? do you think they will work as they say? The claim is they never need to be move or rotated because of the shape.
