Just Got First Hookah, Should I Clean?

Recommended Posts

You should ALWAYS clean a new hookah before use. I prefer:

Using a small toilet brush for the reservoir. The plastic bristles clean the neck and shoulder of the vase, without scratching. I use Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.

An old toothbrush is perfect for scrubbing the ceramic bowl. You can put glazed ceramics in the dishwasher, they do fine.

Do NOT use water in the hose, unless your hose is specifically washable.

A long wire brush with 3/4 bristles is just right for cleaning the stem. A couple of drops of Dawn, and a few gentle strokes, will remove all factory gunk and residues. Rinse.

A clean hookah is a happy hookah.

Any reason why lemon juice?

lemon juice gives the hookah a more natural smell so when you smoke something like apple one day, your chocolate mint the next day isnt tasting like chocolate apple

clean it with a brush, rinse it out and soak it in some lemon juice/water mixture and it should be good as new
