snowman14
I just got my first hookah and i was just wondering if i should clean it with some water or somthing before using it? It kind of tastes like the material used to make it so i was wondering if cleaning it is necessary or not. Thanks!

cemab4y
You should ALWAYS clean a new hookah before use. I prefer:Using a small toilet brush for the reservoir. The plastic bristles clean the neck and shoulder of the vase, without scratching. I use Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water. Rinse thoroughly. An old toothbrush is perfect for scrubbing the ceramic bowl. You can put glazed ceramics in the dishwasher, they do fine.Do NOT use water in the hose, unless your hose is specifically washable.A long wire brush with 3/4 bristles is just right for cleaning the stem. A couple of drops of Dawn, and a few gentle strokes, will remove all factory gunk and residues. Rinse.A clean hookah is a happy hookah.
