Da Wilksta
I was looking on MNhookah and saw that when they sell their QT's you can make it a 2-hose. If you buy the adapter how would you go about making your QT into a 2-hose by yourself? Thanks for the help
Scalliwag
you'd need a drillpress and a tap the same size thread as the check valve cover. Then you would need a hose adaptor like the hose goes into already. You would cut off the end a bit where the male threads are at and tap it to thread onto the check valve side.If you were going to keep the check ball you would drill a small hole through the side of the modified adaptor a little above where the ball is and put a press fit pin into the hole. That would keep the ball from falling out accidently.Unless you already have all of the tooling and an extra regular adtaptor handy it would not be cost or time efficient. But that is the answer to the question for one way of doing it right. If you had a lathe there is an even more time consuming process to really make it right. Take it from somebody that could make one and won't though and get the ready made adaptor. They are so inexpensive that unless you just want something to do to say you did it that it is not worth the trouble. If I went that far I would make an entire stem to get at least bragging rights when it was finished
Da Wilksta
wow! didn't think it would be that much trouble. Is there any way you can just buy a 2-hose stem or would I just have to buy another QT so I could have a 2-hose. On MNhookah it says that you can make it a 2-hose for like 12 more dollars
ASUSEAN1
or you can jus not have a purge valve and put the second hose adaptor there?.. sounds a lot easier
Da Wilksta
Yea, but the purge valve on my QT has a different fitting than the hose one. The top screws off of the purge valve and the hose one screws into the stem. If you look on Mnhookah the adapters look the same as the one i have now on my QT. MN Hookah
all you have to do is take a wrench and that little piece unscrews off of the qt and you can just use an adapter and that should work. It doesnt look like it will come off but it does give it a try.TarikMN Hookah
Scalliwag
I am pretty sure the threads are different. The two hose QT they sell just has the adaptor already installed. Abide has one with the adaptor and it is pretty much the way I described what it would take to make one like it. It has the ball in it with a press pin just above it so it still works like a check valve for when you are smoking by yourself. $12 to to it that way plus shipping. But it you are ordering more stuff it does not weigh enough to add to the shipping. The QT also has a pretty unique stem the way it attaches to the vase so a traditional two hose stem would not work. At least none I have seen.
Scalliwag
Turns out it is the same thread. I just checked mine. Coming up with another MYA adaptor is the key. I had an extra from my first really cheap hookah and it as too small.

Scalliwag
Yep. But if you have to get another adaptor he may as well get the one with the check ball.
