Shifty
Since it's all the rage of a suddenTry searching the forums for the answerBut a serious answer would be, to let the tobacco "breathe", much like opening a bottle of wine helps with the flavor. Some say it helps, some say it doesn't. misterbeetz
I like the answer here:http://hookahwiki.com/index.php?title=Acclimating_Shisha
ASUSEAN1
Nicotine is sensitive to humidity, if it changes from one humidity level to another it can recieve humidity shock. Thus, your smoke will be really thin yet you will have a heavy buzz but with very little flavor. So by letting it acclimate, you are letting the shisha get used to the new environment by leaving it out for a couple hours with the lid half on.
