Scarecrow
I bought some "food essence" from a local arab shop and was thinking of making some shisha with it. They come in some cool flavours and smell extremely strong. Plus they are 1$ per 25ML. It contains propylene, glaycol, essential oil & coloring. Are these safe for a shisha flavour base? Johnny_D
I added some orange extract thinking it would be superb. However when i realised that it was primarily oil that was the base ingridient i figured this was nota very clever idea. When you start cooking the tobacco - your also smoking cooking oil.... I would not suggest it.JD
cemab4y
Well, I encourage caution, and common sense, when adding anything to what you smoke. However, I made a serendipitous discovery once. I found some "Zaghloul" egyptian tobacco in an Arabian shop in Nashville. I tried it my hookah, and found it to be very strong, with a disagreeable aroma. I bought some mint oil in the supermarket, and added a couple of drops to the tobacco, before lighting. I found the mint flavoring to be most enjoyable.Cigarette manufacturers have added flavor enhancers to the tobacco in cigarettes for many years. Additives like oil of cloves, licorice, orange juice, and synthetic ingredients like imitation vanilla, are used all the time. I would like to see what other hookah enthusiasts have experienced, when it comes to adding non-tobacco ingredients.
EvansLight
I would suggest against it, but if you really want, theres other people on the forums who have made there own tobacco, ask what they used.
azcoyote
http://www.silkyscents.net/essential_oils.htmI have done business with this outfit and got some amazing flavors. Their triple-distilled peppermint is awesome, also liked the tangerine, lemongrass and bergamot ( the flavor in earl grey tea) and some others. They are so concentrated, a few drops in the water can produce in-your-face flavors. Stick to food grade stuff and use your judgement.
