DrunkenWizard
So I went to smoke a bowl of tangiers strawberry and blueberry mix and I didn't have any more foil. I was to lazy to hit up the store for some more so I just put a screen on top of my tangiers funnel bowl. It didn't really fit, tobacco was hanging out the sides. I didn't expect much but holy sh*t did this smoke great. Huge clouds, tons of flavor, and no harshness what so ever. Now if I just had a screen that fit right I would be set. Now I remember why I like screens better than foil. Edited April 28, 2007 by DrunkenWizard

The Messiah
I found a screen from social smoke that had belonged to my brothers hookah. It's rather large so I put it on my phunnel bowl and it fit perfect. Way better then the one I had tried last year. And again it smoked like a champ. This is the screen.http://www.socialsmoke.com/item--Stainless...-SCREEN002.html
Zyram
Were you using a scali mod or anything on the bowl? I ask because it seems like with a screen on a phunnel bowl you'd simply breathe in a lot of coal tasting air without one. I'm interested in trying it out though because I don't like the foil anymore since I've had screens, but at the same time, my new phunnel bowl didn't seem exactly made for screens. (I know I know, man up and get a MN jet glass phunnel, I probly will soon!)-Z
Stuie
I still mostly use foil, I don't like the hole over the center it makes pulling to easy. I guess if I used a screen on a phunnel i would use the scalli mod.

Bulldog_916
Agreed, foil over screen. You can vary your hole patterns with foil. You can pack it in well with a foil. You can throw the foil away after you're done without cleaning another thing. Foil > Screens
mikecsy
foil definitely rules. Depends on what tobacco you smoke, but for most, the small holes you can make with foil cannot be compared with the roughness of screen. Screens take more coal residue in as well, and it's not airtight like foil.foil for life!
MNH
We just created another version of the glass screen.. The Diamond Cut Jet Screen.. It gives more air flow then the original glass screen, as of right now they only fit Jet bowls.. Will have them on site tomorrow..

indian_villager
I bend the tabs on a screen to make a little table. I put coals on there and take a blowtorch to it while outside. It is the only purpose of those things. To be my coal lighting surface!
