Cold493
What is teh best way to keep it fresh over a long period of time I have read to put it in a fridge, I have read to not do that, I have read tupperware containers, all sorts of stuff. Anyways I wont have a fridge where I'm going so taht is out of the question, should I just leave it in the box or do something special with it? ZooJohnnyZETA
What I do to keep my massell fresh is very simple. After I open the bag inside the box/jar that the massell is in I leave the massell inside the original bag. I then put the original bag inside a Ziplock sandwich bag, suck all the air out of the Ziplock bag, and place the Ziplock bag back inside the original box/jar that the massell came in. After that I just store my massell in a cool, dry, and relatively dark place. With this my massell tends to stayfresh and flavorful for about a year to a year and a half. Somtimes two years for the particularly wet massell. But above all I never refrigerate my massell. From what I understand that causes the molasses to dry and flavor to degenerate very quickly. So thats what I do to keep mine fresh. I hope that helps!

mushrat
Ya, I keep mine in the original bag, a ziploc bag, and then the disposable plastic things like nerv. Though i haven't been smoking long enough for anything to actually dry out yet. If you go with a plastic container, you may consider clay moisture disks from a cigar/tobacco shop in it to keep the moisture up. In the container, not necessarily in the bag, though id say it wouldn'y hurt there either. $.
cypress
I use the bag it came in, in a zip lock back, and a tupperware.
