lazria
Here i sat, enjoying a new mix (Kiwi strawberry) and having a rather nice afternoon... watching the TV and all was well in the world...Then I shifted and appearently KNOCKED MY HOOKAH ever so slightly.... and the Smiley Bowl WENT a FLYIN! {insert massive cussing}So after rushing around and screaming, pouring water everywhere..... and thankfully not breaking my new bowl.... it's all out...Damage: 30 pin-hole sized burns in the NEW FREAKING sofa.... 3 quarter sized burns on the carpet.... and several small burns on my damn leg and arm.....ouchLeasson Learned boys and gurls..... no matter how much easier it is to reach the bowl, NEVER PLACE your hookah on the FLOOR, right next to your leg.... next to your NEW sofa.....How the hell am I gonna explain this one........ Key
Rough. Sorry to hear :\.I think some of the worst spills of hookahs that I have seen in the past year or two were...This had to of happened at least a couple times, but about a year ago when six of my buddies were living together (we called it the Animal House for good reason). My friend Max would just leave his hookah at their place because he was always over there and everyone seemed to enjoy a good smoke session and such. One of the times that I was hanging out on one of the couches my buddy Geoff got himself entangled with the hose of the hookah (he was trying to say what up to some chick or something) and tugged the hookah straight over. The coal went sailing to the floor and burned a good gap into their rug. Next my buddy Jordin's quick instincts, maybe not the brightest decision, picked the coal up with his bare hand. He just sat there for a second and I was in serious questioning of his reflexes, but a second more came a YELL of pain and he flung the coal away somewhere on the table. haha. Long story sorry. Just pretty much Jordin put a good burn into his hand while the rest of us laughed at his bad decision to pick up the coal bare handed.Another sad story of mine. I brought my hookah over to my friend jaime's a couple weeks ago. She was putting the hookah outside of her house when the rest of us were done with it. The three of us chimed in and told Jaime to keep a good handle on the bottom of the vase. Well seeing that she made a huge mistake took her hand away for a second (for some unimportant reason probably) and a moment later ended with the smashing of the vase of my hookah. sigh. It REEKED of hookah smoke and broken glass was everywhere.Sorry to hear buddy. Edited May 3, 2007 by Key

garykainz
my buddy john was trying to untwist a hose at the hookah bar one time, only instead of untwisting it, he started to twist it more, and before we could react, the hookah came right over. fortuntely, the coals only hit the glass table top, so no burns, but Omar (the propriater of said bar) was pretty pissed. he ened up giving us more coals and the night was saved
cemab4y
I once left my hookah in the TV room of my barracks. Some idiot picked it up by the stem, and the reservoir fell off, broke, and splattered water all over the (linoleum) floor. Fortunately, The guy "fessed-up" and bought me a new reservoir. I learned my lesson, don't leave hookah out where inexperienced geeks will mess with it.
Gaara
That sucks for you. Had a couple of carpet burns but learned this trick where you cut the top fibers of the carpet and then use this specific bleach so that it'll be evened out. Works perfectly and my carpet still looks pretty new.

I saw the smoke and dug through the trash, but could NOT find the coal, but it was still smoking. went RIGHT through the garbage can, and partially into the linolium floor, haha. Mother dearest wasn't too pleased.
azcoyote
The carpet in my office and my fifth wheel trailer have been destroyed by multiple hookah spills. I can replace it for not much money, but it still sucks. I just hate it when two coals fly off and you can only find one. You know the other is burning something and you hope to find it before it flames up. I don't want to replace the carpet 'cause then I would have to smoke outside ONLY. Oh well.
