djnamttor
Hello all, new to the forums here.Been actively smoking the Hookah for almost 3 years after being introduced to it from my good friend from Dubai. Typically we share a double hosed large vase but after he brought me back a personal sized hookah from Abu Dhabi I smoke even more at home.Recently I've begun to mess around with the juice in the vase as a way to enhance the smoke and have come up with a couple of recipes that seem to work very well. I'd like to share them with you for your thoughts and also see what other combinations you all may use yourselves. I'd really enjoy the chance to get some new ideas and maybe collaborate for some great recipes. Here are a few that I really enjoy:ZESTY ORANGEOrange Flavored Shisha (Al-Waha)Pour a little bit less water than you typically use into vase, and freeze prior to useOnce frozen, add 2 shots CointreauAdd 1 shot fresh squeezed orange juicePORTO GRAPEGrape Flavored Shisha (Al-Fakhr)Ice to preferenceEqual parts Sugar Water and Wine (I use Colared Chitas '97, a portugese white wine, very light and flavorful almost sparkling)Hope to hear from you! cemab4y
Am I missing something? How can you add water into the reservoir, and freeze prior to use, without cracking the reservoir? I like your recipes, regardless, I am anxious to try them. I keep reading about adding milk to the reservoir, does this result in a different "type" of smoke, thicker, denser? I like to experiment with the tobacco itself, I tried adding a couple of drops of mint oil to a non-flavored tobacco, and I just loved it. I am anxious to try mixing a little bourbon whiskey into the reservoir, and then mint oil to the tobacco, and having a "mint julep" type of smoke. I have not had my vase break yet. Also my Ice lasts over an hour this way.
lazria
If you add liquior, be careful - the heat will vaporize some of the liqor and "add" to the buzz of the shisha. If you do a long session of smoking, i don't recommend driving afterwards as you will have some liquor in your system.Always start with 1 shot (1 oz) and go from there. It will also help prevent freezing if you place the whole base in the icebox. For the most liquor flavor, use snaps (just picked up butterscotch that I am gonna try w/ Wedding cake to add to the yummie goodness)My best base mix involves Whaler's Coconut Rum, Strawberry liquor and Sky Vanilla (not together - each was a different run)
Vancity604
nestle hot chocolate packs in the base with certain falvors gives it a hint of choclate flavor.
Count of Mooby Cristo
I always add fresh citrus rind to my vase. It reminds me of the time I spent in Thailand when we would smoke shisha and feast on skewers of grilled chicken and fragrant broth with shrimp and fish. we would always put fresh stalks of lemongrass, and a wedge of lime in our nargile vases.
