Also, make sure all of the silver coating is gone before smoking or you'll get a nasty taste (although it doesn't ruin the whole bowl like smoking before a quick-light is completely lit). Hookah_Bob3
You can light them with a regular bic, just get the corners glowing and set them by the window or by a fan (cheaper option)You could get a butane lighter too, or a hot plate

You can get them at most hardware stores, there is also this one on thinkgeek ... http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/tools/58cb/ which I like because it burns very hot(1300C) and resembles a pen more than a torch. pablo
Another thing to keep in mind, if you do plan on using a butane lighter as an ignition solution you should make sure that you do not use crappy butane. There is a lot of it out there and it will get the fuel line clogged with the impurities in the butane and eventually it will just stop working. Whatever lighter you get I would immediately purge it via the refilling nozzle(just depress it and let all the gas spurt out), let it heat back up because it will be freezing cold at this point restricting gas flow, repeat that until it is room temperature and not spraying out any more gas, then fill it with at least tripple refined butane, I use quintuple refined butane in my butane lighters just because it burns much better. You can get this stuff at just about any smoke shop(read: smoke shop, not head shop). Cigar shops usually have the best butane. You can generally get a huge can of it for $3-4 and it will last months.

lazria
Walmart.... Kmart... Home Depot, Lowes... even Target. Take your pick....That canstier lighter thing will run you less than a good lighter (torch) type, pablo is very right in that you will need the higher end butane for the lighters - even colbri's will clog and fail within months of purchasing (And colbri's can run up past 100$) if you use cheap fuel.If you are desprate for lighting them (the coals) light a candle and hold teh coal over it - when the corners are lit, then blow on it. It will take 5-10 min, but they'll lite!
