Does anyone know where I can get some silicone gaskets??? I mean the whitish clear ones... MYA's come with them but I can't find them online ANYWHERE! I hate rubber base gaskets, they're always thick and they're hard to put on... And the silicone bowl and hose grommets are preem... I really need some cause I keep losing the ones I have and I always have to replace them with crappy rubber angry.gif

Heres a tip just wet the rubber gromments. It will slide into the pipe and base easy tongue.gif

ok, whats your #? laugh.gif

Yeah they definitely do get dirty and look shabby, I find that the performance outweighs the crappy appearance... Especially since my hose doesn't fit into my MYA without one (the hose and adapter are angled differently), and I don't like the look of a big black rubber piece sticking out. The smaller silicone ones fit completely inside.

I found some though

"On Hookah-Hookah"

this is what I was talking about as far as the base goes

I do wet my rubber grommets but the thing is you have to wet them every time... which I don't like. Plus they are really thick and not all that flexible, which has made fitting the bowl on an issue in the past (with my phunnel, which has an opening that is relatively unforgiving of too wide a stem opening coupled with too big of a plug...)

edit: no hookah-hookah? Edited by nofrendo

I would, but when a company shows that it is willing to open itself to the possibility of being scammed like that in order to earn customer loyalty, I feel that we owe it to them to not take advantage... that's why there are so many companies with horrible customer service (many just because they don't care, too)... because they get taken advantage of and lose too much money.

I think I may have found some though...

If not, I'll just call planetimports and order some through them

yeah but when a company marks up a hooka 100-150 percent then they are making a fine amount of money to cover the products they garentee

Electrical tape works, too. I like electrical tape. Alot! I use electrical tape and gaskets.

I do too, underneath, to make the gaskets have a more precise fit... I'm worried about the adhesive vaporizing though!

Rubbers, silicone and electrical tape- sounds like a kinky night at the strip club.
smile.gif But I always had bad luck with the silicones- they seem to lose their fit really quickly in contrast to the fat rubbers. I never got a really good seal with 'em and my mya. But I think the electrical tape works wonders as a sealer- specially on the base and hose... the bowl I haven't quite ventured to tape up cause although I like the taste of electrical tape when I chew it I don't know if i'd like to smoke it. Anybody tried tape to seal bowl connection?

I think electrical tape is generally rated up to 350F. As long as you aren't using it to cover your bowl and put charcoal on it, I think its OK.
