Do you rinse it out afterwards? I wouldn't want to be smoking epsom salt and rubbing alcohol residue.

Hey bigmahlman,

We have cleaned a lot of hookahs in our time and we find there are a few tricks that can be real helpful.

1. We love to use baking soda to clean the vase and the stem with warm water. Also, if you pour baking soda into the stem and then scrub with a pipe cleaner you will get it extra clean because the baking soda acts like supplementary abrasive and takes out all of the stuck in molasses and residue.

2. Lemon juice works great for the vases too, but be careful if you use it with the stem as it is acidic and may cause it to rust. One neat trick we found is that if you mix baking soda with lemon juice it creates a chemical reaction and fizzes. This is great for cleaning vases and tobacco bowls because it polishes off that nasty tar and other residue.

Always make sure to rinse every part of the hookah with cold water and let it dry before smoking. This will ensure you have washed away any cleaning solutions and dirt.

Hope this helps. wink.gif

Buy a 40 of Old E...use some of it to clean your hookah and jar...drink remaining beer in bottle. Don't drink beer you used to clean your hookah with! Repeat several times.

I personally use 75% water and 25%Propylene Glycol and then use beer if that doesn't get it.

I like how everyone lists products that work or combinations that make special reactions ( baking soda + lemon juice) and the chemist of the bunch says pouring beer is the best way to do it tongue.gif I'd try it , but I heard wasting beer is against the law.
I guess it's okay to use the 2% alcohol budweiser, we don't have that over here Edited by ShishaFred

or go to some sketch ball town and smoke outside so the cops come and insist that they take your hookah down to the station and test for resin. i hear they get that hookah really clean, only to find nothing of course
