hookahmeup
Yeah this is true. I just rinse the vase and stem with water when i'm done. Then do the real cleaning in the morning. It has not affected any part on my hookah.
SMOKE~N~BUBBLZ
never done it with cola , but it could be good....do you use ice in the base? I have tried it with lemon wedges and ice in teh base.....really refreshing smoke. And i tried it with milk once (a friend recomended it)...i got a thick smoke but felt weird smoking with milk in teh base. Every so often i add either anniseed or vanillia essence to teh water. cypress
I clean my hookah with a bottle of lemon juice. It will cut just about anything that is nasty left over inside of it. I use it as an alternative of using soap.
SMOKE~N~BUBBLZ
Lemon juice will clean it....try a bit of salt with teh lemon juice, it give a gentle but abrasive property, it will make your hookah shine but not scratch it
hookahmeup
yeah I put about a tray or so of ice in my vase. The first taste funny but after that it is all gravy.

jmexx
I would think diet Coke is just as bad, no?I see you're new, welcome to the forum!! You happened to join on my birthday:PI know when I put something with bubbles in the water mix, problems occur. Any such problems of over-bubbling (such as liquids coming out of the hose,) occuring?Jon

PipeSmokeMcGee
yes, diet drinks do not leave stickiness b/c of the lack of sugar. i have used crystal light peach tea with nahkla peach shisha, and that was quite good. crystal light also has a raspberry ice flavor that i imagine would be good

Problem is, in our mouths, we have Saliva (hopefully). Saliva acts as a chemical buffer, neutralizing, things that are acidic or basic. In fact, saliva tends to be slightly alkaline which, by itself, tends to neutralize acids like Coca Cola. Coca Cola contains other acids. As Pimpy's ref points out, there are many things that are more acidic than Coke. Apples, citrus fruits, pineapple...I think milk (lactic acid) is more acidic too, don't quote me on that. Pineapples and citrus fruits contain very powerful chemicals that readily dissolve lots of stuff. Pineapple workers routinely are missing their fingerprints from the pineapple dissolving their skin, as I understand it. What is true is that the carbonic acid in Coca Cola will adversely react with copper and make a deadly poison. Hookahs contain lots of copper, right? King Mo
erm, well cola can remove rust and other crap. (household cheapo tips). perhaps it'll clean some of the build up of stuff in the pipe I tend to avoid messing with the water anyway. Occasionally if you have time, you can go for a funky orange or apple as a head, but the liquid i tend to avoid messing with. Generally for cleaning purposes, and on the odd chance it might get in your hose then it could get messy.
Sonthert
If you mix 10 parts water with one part molasses, and put something rusty in it, it will remove the rust. Something I learned from being on the hookah forum! Thanks Sheeshabum or was it Israel Enigma? Well, thanks everybody...you enrich my life.
