3rooker
I am wanting to find a few personal favorites and also want to have a variety to smoke for now. By variety I mean:15 Layalina Flavors13 Fumari Flavors8 Starbuzz Flavors5 Smiley's FlavorsAre sample packs a waste of money? Do they provide the same quality as bulk? I just read through I don't know how many shisha reviews and picked out flavors I'd like to try that had high reviews. I'm not rich, so I am planning on doing this within about a 2 month span. I've always smoked from my friend's hookah or at lounges. I'm going to call the hookah lounge and see what brand they use. Layalina seems to be pretty damn good for the money. A lot of the flavors have good reviews and it really doesn't cost all that much. Obviously StarBuzz is top notch, but I can't afford to smoke SB all the time. Also, I plan to always order from the internet for two reasons; One, the forum discount on top of internet prices. And, two, becuase smoke shops usually jack their prices up a little. So, are sample packs a waste of money or a good investment?
Johnny_D
Tough Call Tex.I have had the 50g sample flavour and they do not fully convey the good flavour of the large packs. I often find that the smaller packs are very tight packed where the bigger tubs are more loose and have more free-flowing juice.Having said that.... the 50g's will tell you what the basic taste is. I have brought lots of 250g tubs and landed up throwing them... most notibly250g's of al fakhir Strawberry [Reviewed]250g's of Star Buzz Kiwi strawberry [Not Reviewed. But NAAAAASTY]Point is with flavour reviews is that it's a very personal thing. One man's meat and all that Good luckJD
Erica
In some ways they are good for the money.. Like.. If you have never tried a certain flavor before... You are not wasting the tobacco or the money on a flavor you dont like...On the other hand... they cost more money per g. So if you are ordering 5 sampler packs of the same flavor its going to cost more..
3rooker
I was taking into consideration that tastes differ from person to person. So, I took a lowest average of 75% positive (leaving 25% of people saying they did not enjoy it) and only took flavors that were reviewed by lots of people. If there were only a few reviews, I decided that if they were all close to 10, I'd write it down to try it. JD & Erica, I looked at reviews from both of you. JD, I've learned a lot from you on these forums and Erica, I liked how you graded the shisha for reviews. There are some people that I just don't trust their reviews. Maybe the fact that they might be that "exception" for taste or that they just didn't grade very well. You can tell if a review is biased or not. Nonetheless, I've spent countless hours on these forums reading and reading and reading, and I hate reading! But, I've learned new things to try/do when I finally get my 2 hookahs. I'm looking for a 3rd! And I haven't even recieved my first 2 yet!Buying sample packs for like $2-$10 is better than buying a 250g tub of it and ending up throwing it away. $2 vs. $15. If I like the sample pack, chances are that the bulk tub will be the same, if not, better, right?
