the scalli mod does everything the funnel bowl was designed to prevent. the main purpose of the funnel besides holding in the juice was to re-direct the airflow so you are not pulling air through the shisha.. o well

Is that true?

Yeah Tangiers designed his phunnels to be used with his (tangiers brand) shisha so the airflow moves across the top of the shisha. The phunnel has more benefits to offer so the scalli mod was thought up to better adapt the phunnel for other shisha. Even though I don't smoke tangiers out of my phunnel, I still use it with the mod because it makes the shisha last longer, gives a better flavor, and prevents the juices from gunking up the stem of my hookah. Sonthert (Tangiers) has a new bowl in beta testing right now for non-tangiers smokers.
