BUT, I can't decide whether or not to buy a small, medium, or a large. I'm going through MNHookah.com and was also wondering (because I could not find this answer either) if there is a discount code for MNHookah. I know some people think it's cheap, but I'm on a VERY tight budget. I was looking at the Tangiers Phunnel Bowls and I would also get a glass scalli mod for it. Shifty Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 I smoke by myself and own 2 mediums with scalli mods, they aren't "that" wasteful actually, considering you can pack half the bowl if you only want a shorter session, or if you pack the whole thing, it will last anywhere between 2-3 hours with coal rotation and heat management. However, it does take about 3-4 jap ez lights to get going though. One of these days I will need to pack the bowl, and then measure how much I actually use. So I'd probably get the scalli mod from MNHookah and the bowl itself somewhere else. Anyone have any experiences with the Smiley's glass bowls and glass screens? On top of that i could see the shisha that wasnt burning in the bowl so i could constantly adjust the shisha properly for a better smoke. I personally love them both, the smoke lasts forever (and when i smoke i usually smoke for hours so it is nice not having to refill my mya bowl like 3 times).You might as well just purchase the bowl and scalli mod both from MNHookah, for 1 they have great customer service and 2 that way you don't have to pay for shipping twice? that 1.25 or whatever you "save" purchasing the bowl somewhere else is going to go towards the additional 5-7 bucks you pay for shipping. but what do i know, its just my 2 cents Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Honestly there isn't a whole lot of difference in size, but if you are planning to use the mod, I would say get the medium. Both are pretty good size, and I don't find either one to be wasteful, as they do cook through properly to the bottom of the bowl with the proper technique. if you just want to smoek for 45 minutes by yourself, then i would venture to say you probably don't really need the funnel. But if 2+ hour sessions with flavor throughout is your goal, either size would be fine. The mod takes up quite a bit of room in the bowl, so that might give the medium a bit of an edge in that regard, but otherwise the small is great.Enjoy.happy smokesNick Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LuxOR541 Posted May 15, 2007 Share Posted May 15, 2007 I pretty much just star by sprinkling bits in the bottom. If there are any small pieces of stem this is where I try to put em. The best thing i have found so far is just to keep the packing somewhat loose, and even amoutn all the way around. I pack right up to the top with the funnel, whereas with an egyptian style bowl i tend to leave some airspace. I don't have a lot of experience with the funnel yet, as I only got mine last week. I haven't noticed much of a difference in smoke quality or duration with the mod, but the verdict is still out on it. As for foil, I haven't had any problems yet with the foil sucking down and covering the hole in the middle, but i know some have and a small pin prick hole in the middle seems to fix that. I use a bamboo skewer to poke my holes. It seems to be the perfect size really, and the tapered part pushing down through the foil to the right depth to make the hole wide enough helps to aerate the tobacco.If i were you I'd do what i did and get one of each size. At least that way if you get tired of a flavor in an hour or so, you can switch to the other bowl, cover the first with foil and save it for later. Kinda like hookah leftovers. mmmmmHmm... if a hookah lounge served their sessions in a funnel bowl and you only wanted an hour do you think you could get a doggy bag?
