MrMoodz
Has anybody ever purchased Layalina's Mangosteen flavor? I bought a 250g box of it last night and the shisha is super oily. You really have to scrub your hands well to get the flavor off of your fingers. Has anybody ran into this problem?
The King
No, but doesn't sound like a problem to me, usually the wetter shisha has more flavor

Most of the time a rinse of the hands will get the excess and flavoring off. But with this stuff, you gotta scrub. I'm wondering if smoking really oily shisha is more harmful then smoking shisha that is not oily?
The King
Yeah i guess i didn't really think about it as oily at first, i was just thinking like wet from mollasses... Sounds wierd, never had it where it won't rinse off right away
MrMoodz
I know this is a super old post... But as I was digging through my stash I found my oily Layalina Mangosteen. Does anybody think oily shisha would cause any additional harm to the body? Should I smoke it or should I toss it? The flavor is good but you can taste a little bit of the oil during a session. mushrat
I doubt its actual OIL. Some brands just have that feel, Nakhla, Zona to some extent, often the honey based shishas I've noticed.I'd go ahead and smoke it if it was still smelling good, If it was oil oil, you'll taste it damn fast. MrMoodz
When I say Oil, I don't mean motor oil... More like some kind of vegetable oil... and if you don't use soap and water after handling the stuff the oil stays on your hands. Johnny_D
He beat me to it lol. Yes, nahkla is a very 'oily' shisha.I believe it's because they mix honey and glycarin that creates that oil-like look.JDQUOTE (mushrat @ May 21 2008, 04:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I'd go ahead and smoke it if it was still smelling good, If it was oil oil, you'll taste it damn fast.Once, many years ago, I was being a clever cu..runt and added some cooking 'flavorings' to my nahkla orange.2 puffs into the bowl and I was puking.... Ingriendts in said flavorings? Oil. Really nasty shit!So yer, it ain't any kind oil, cooking or crude lol Edited May 21, 2008 by Johnny_D
mushrat
didn't think layalina was honey based. But i have noticed the oily feel on the few Honey based one's I've tried. with the exception of Starbuzz.
MrMoodz
I'm an avid Nakhla smoker and the "oily" that is Nakhla is not the oily that is this batch of Layalina Mangosteen. I have never came across any batch of shisha that had this type of oil content.
