Cleaning The Scalli Mod

Hey! So I was really in the mood for a new bowl, and i decided to purchase the 40-50gram phunnel bowl along with the glass scalli mod. And let me just say, "WOW!" The flavor is amazing with no amount of harshness at all.

But alas, I now have formulated two question:

1. When I used to smoke Nakhla from my old bowl (those standard female types), I'd get a really nice buzz. But now with the phunnel bowl, I get a buzz considerably less powerful. Any reason why? Anything I should do differently?

2. I've used the scalli mod like 3 times now, and more tobacco is getting stuck onto the outside part. I've tried gently rubbing it off, but it doesn't help much. How do you clean your scalli mod?

I usually just clean off the big chunks of tobacco in between sessions and rinse it. After every 10/20 smokes I get a little dish, fill it up with lemon juice and microwave it for about 5 minutes. It doesn't come out looking like new, but it does the trick.

Soak it in 99% isopropyl rubbing alcohol for about 10 mins, then buy a cheap toothbrush or use an old one and scrub it off and dip the brush in the alcohol about every 30 secs.

The worst part about the mod is cleaning it. I have a bowl of layalina watermelon going now with the mod. It's the first time I've used the mod in weeks because I don't like cleaning it. Been smoking the phunnel without mod, which actually seems to work better for some tobaccos.

i used it for the first time and found a pretty easy way of cleaning it, if anyone is interested.

i got these soft bendable razors pictured here: http://www.mondotees.com/ProductImages/ban.../razorblade.jpg

which are used for the DE Shaving razor (you can buy these anywhere even ebay)

and basically i just run the razor back and forth over the mod where ever the dried tobacco is and it takes it right off.. about 5 mins and its as good as new.. wont scratch the glass either. Edited May 18, 2007 by clickhea
