Mnh Scallis Glass Phunnel Bowl Mod

just received the product today, when i sit it in the medium funnel bowl its actually sitting a bit lower than the rim of the bowl, is this a problem? i remember reading in previous threads by other users that theirs sat a bit higher and thats how it was suppose to be.

alright, i just realized its not the tangeirs medium funnel bowl, so maybe that has somthing to do with it

i got the medium funnel bowl from somewhere else, ic ant remember where exactly.

so to set this up properly

put the mod in, put a lil sisha around the bowl put the foil on.. but does the foil still need holes in it now since the coals are going to be heating up the mod?

also is 1 charcoal directly in the center over the mod good enough? or does the mod not effect how i place my coals and holes? Edited May 16, 2007 by clickhea

I do not put any coals over the middle, as it would be pointless.. Heating a hole....Ok. Lets smoke some hot air.. I have Jap EZ lights and place 3 of them in a triangle around the bowl and constantly shift them every so often to keep an even burn on the shisha. Yes, you still need holes, I do 2 rings and then a few more smaller holes toward the middle-ish. As there is no need to make a larger hole due to the scalli mod, you can just leave the very middle part alone.

i understand, i was under the impression the point in the mod was..the glass would heat up and heat the sisha evenly.. thats why i figured 1 coal over the middle was what may be needed.

do you have a glass screen or a mod

glass screen has a single hole in the middle and heats tabaco using the glass. it works alot like a metal screen, just replaces foil.

phunnle mod makes shure that the air moves through the tabaco before it goes down the single hole in the middle of the bowl. to my undertanding you use this with foil, and you punch holes aroudn the outside.

yeah i got the mod, i did search, i found alot of threads but not on how the setup went with the mod.

i searched youtube, one shows scalli with 1 coal over the center

and the other video shows him with 2 coals next to each other.

Yeah, I prefer tight packing for that setup. Ive heard of some people who pack it loose as well though. I guess you'll have to try both to see what you like best.
