Crackdown is fun... Guitar Hero is addictive as hell... and of course there is the halo series... So can't wait for Halo 3 to come out... playing the beta right now and it rocks!

And please no FLAMING this thread or talking shit that this system is better than that one bull shit. Almost every thread like this ends up like that.

What am I looking forward to?

More exploits in the system so I can run XBMC and other homebrew software on it. I currently use the old xbox for this but it would nice to be able to use the power of the 360 for these purposes.

Here is a video of XBMC if anyone is interested:

If I want to connect to the internet to browse, I'll just use the computer. It's never more than a room away from the 360 and it has a keyboard.

What is lame is the last console update for 360 blocked my ability to connect wirelessly via Ethernet cable to a wireless hub that connected to the house's cable modem. Now I am forced to buy the XBox wireless network adapter if I want to connect wirelessly. I'd move the cable modem to my room, but the house is old and doesn't have a phone jack in my room. I need about 110 feet of ethernet cable to connect to the modem from my Xbox.

However, I am moving next week... so maybe I can connect yet still.

What have I been playing, you ask, good sirs? MERCENARIES. I cannot wait for the sequel. For 360, I am still trying to unlock all the Gears of War goodies.

Also looking forward to Assassin's Creed.

I bought an Elite last nite too. I am not sure if I am going to keep it or not. Anyone want to buy a Premium system for cheap? wink.gif Edited by ghostofdavid

If I don't keep the Elite, I'll just take it back with the receipt. You cheeky monkey! I just bought a full HD TV and that is why I wanted the newer 360.

Cost of new HD: $179. Cost of HD Cable (when released) $50.

Original Cost of Premium System: 400

Total Cost Spent For Elite Configuration: $629

Elite is $479. If I sell my XBox Premium at $250, then I'm spending about the same as if I bought the HD Cable & New Harddrive.

Uh, I swear the math works. tongue.gif

Honestly I am not too impressed with the 360, especially when compared with the Wii.... That said Elder Scrolls is amazing, and I can't wait for fable 2 and I'll be really psyched if they come out with a new KotOR or something like Jade Empire..,

I guess different strokes for different folks but the wii isn't as good if you play games by yourself most of the time and ESPECIALLY if you play FPSs online or off. Wii was a fun system but it just didn't compare to how much more gaming and ability I have with my 360

Yeah, looks like Bill got pissed and is now banning 360s with modded firmware. Its a shame that they are doing so since I was planning to download some game extras. Hopefully some new firmwares will come out soon. rolleyes.gif

Sorry, I'm 100% all for banning firmware modding and the such... Sure you can make your xbox do some cool shit BUT then you get all the modders and hackers in games... that that is just bull shit. Takes all the enjoyment out of a game.

Yeah, I have no idea how the FW mods allow for game hacking (but then again I haven't been following the xbox scene for awhile). The "original" intention of the mod FW's was to allow for playing "backups" of your games (or pirated copies depending on what you choose to do). So either people are using hacks that are firmware related or MS got fed up with too many people stealing their games (or both).

I personally don't hack and haven't had an XBL account since the end of the first year it came out. Im against hacking online games but i love using homebrew software like XBMC on the xbox (or old school games like sonic the hedgehog on xbox FTW!). Modding consoles is a double edged sword. For me it doesn't matter since I don't use XBL.

Like the previous generation though, this is only the beginning of a game of cat and mouse. They've already found a way around MS's current set of FW checks...

I agree. I have both and the Wii is great when friends are over, but when I want to be lazy and just kick back by myself, the 360 is where it's at.

That said, now that the Halo 3 beta is over, I've been playing some Crackdown co-op, and getting back into Rainbow Six Vegas. I have a ton of games on preorder. Stranglehold, Bioshock, GTAIV, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Huxley (actually not pre-order..able yet), Call of Duty 4. Basically I'm going to be flat broke from August to November.

Now that I've got a HD TV, I can finally read the text on Dead Rising.

That's the reason that my friend and I finally got HDTVs. It was kind of a caving in point. Well, I should be more specific. We got the HD cables and hooked them up to our computer monitors. It's a bit higher than 720p, and it works for my needs. Still longing to play on a 40" plus screen though, but at least I get to play games whenever I want and don't have to compete with my roommates for a TV.
