Neat Ice Cube Trays I Found

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd share this since I didn't see these ice cube trays mentioned before and I quite like them. I found them at Bed Bath and Beyond in the kitchenwares. The ice cubes are 3/4" in diameter and about 4" long and easily fit through the neck of my vase. Before, I had to crush my ice cubes to fit them through the neck.

Those are some tight ice cubes.

I never use ice in the base anymore. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but everytime I just put room temperature water in my vase, the flavor comes out more. The hot smoke in contact with very cold water seems like too much of a dramatic change molecularly.

Does anyone else get better flavor like this or am I crazy as hell?

you think they would fit in the top of a rotator? whats the diameter

Hmm, I'm not familiar with the dimensions of typical rotator vases so I couldn't tell ya. The cubes are about 3/4" in diameter and 4" long. I just found that they work better for me since regular ice cubes don't fit the neck of my Mya vase.

hmm well that doesn't make too much sense.. actually the colder the water, the less nicotine is absorbed and visa versa..

Yea I am on the same boat. I would assume the warmer water would retain more of the nicotine (if any) and flavor than cold water.

I just happen to get my best flavor with warm water.

Interesting. I guess it might have been all in my head then. I'm gonna do some testing and use my brother as a guinea pig as well. rolleyes.gif

um... wouldnt colder water allow for more nicotine to be absorbed because when water is cold it can have more stuff dissolved in it. (like when a soda gets warmer all the CO2 bubbles out and it goes flat) ... just a thought... heh well this is all under the assumption that nicotine is hydrophilic

+1

<science lesson>
The warmer the water, the more saturated it can become, or that more stuff can dissolve into it. Nicotine is readily soluble in water. So not as much nicotine is dissolved if you have ice in the base. So, theoretically, to get the better buzz and flavor, use room temperature water.
</science lesson>

But of course, everyone has their own way of doing it. Find out what works for you. wink.gif

I do the same. I could never really taste the flavor with ice in my base. I either use cool water or room temperature water. I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't use ice cubes.

how would you get a better buzz if more nicotine is absorbed in the water. According to all these science facts. Cold water = more nicotine which should be more buzz right?

Some flavors i just dont like if its not cold. F line Apple being one. I love it icy cold. Not so much otherwise
