lazria
Ok, before you yell "search", I did. I found the reviews on the Khalil Mamoun (Hafa), but can't seem to find anything on the other two models of Hookahs I am considering. I thought several months ago I read that someone had one of them, but couldn't find it.Hookah-shisha's Engineer (2 hose) MYA's X-Large Gold (see linkage below 4 entries)Anybody have these hookahs?I'm looking for a nice looking, but highly functional hookah to replace my orginial Eygptian (it was a discounted piece from the beginning and it now outliving it's usefulliness - leaking, cracking, and generaly ulgy).I like the KM for the durability. I could only find a few places with them (US based) so the Hafa from HC seems to be my front runner for KM's. I hate the hose it comes with, but I have several already (mods) that will replace it.I do like the Engineer's 2 hose style as well as the adjustable stem, plus it "looks" nice so it would be a great center-piece (in my apt }, but I don't know how well it will stand up to use and abuse. Then you have the MYA X-large (gold) - I've only heard good things about the smaller MYA hookahs, but not too much on the larger ones.I want the MYA, but the price is steep - but you pay for what you get.I love the rep of the KM, but it's only a single hose (I want a double) and somewhat plain (but I can work around that). Plus the price is better in my current range. And the Engineer is nice looking, but I don't know anything about the durablity and life of that hookah. I would hate to spend that much for something that will end up on a shelf looking pertty but basicly useless.Any thoughts? Reviews of the other two hookahs? I know I'm opening a can o'worms probably, but shoot me later. Danke. Edited May 22, 2007 by lazria

LuxOR541
Well, I have an engineer (single hose model - they don't offer these anymore unfortunately) and I absolutely love it. The brass model does tarnish a bit, and at first i tried to keep it well polished, but found that was a losing battle and that i sort of like the dull patina that it gets after a while. It smokes like a dream and the stem is really solid (heavy) The purge valve on mine works well, but you would be getting an auto-seal 2 hose, so I can't really say how that would work. My only complaint about mine is that the head piece is too tall. the tray scres in between the stem pieces and the head piece is a bit on the tall side, so that if using a tall bowl, it is dificult to use a windocover. Also, the taper of the head piece is a little narrow and long so the grommet sits down low on the mount. Some bowls may not work well liek this.. but you can easily stack two grommets and that will fix the issue. I have never had a problem getting it to seal properly. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. As far as the MYA, I have a cloisonne mya that is about that height. I love it too.. the draw is a little tighter than with the engineer, but the fit and finish of the MYA is second to none. If it were me and i had to have ONE hookah, I would probably go withthe engineer, because I love traditional hookahs. Plus that stem will last you a lifetime if you keep it clean.Hope that helps.Nick

Although, according to the website the 2-hose model doesn't appear to have the auto-seal, it comes with hose stoppers. I might have to email/call them before I make the final choice.I kind gave up on my windcover w/ my Tang phunnel - too large , guess it's time I hunt up a larger one or work on making my own.As for the pinta - I think I would like it - I adore tradishional (sp) stems ALOT more than moderns. My BF will have a FIT - he polishes his watch/clip/ect twice a week becasue he loves the gold shine.... it will be fun watching him attempt to keep it shinny (I'm cruel, aren't I?)One question for you, does the bottom of the stem have a ball/nut welded to it? My old E did, but we broke it off... reason, we put a diffuser on it. I just want to know if I should buy the diffuser or my "homemade" ones will work (haven't conquored the ball-end stem version yet). Thanks. LuxOR541
The stem does have a little bit of a ball shaped flare on the end, but it's small. Like maybe 1/2 inch diameter total. But, the downstem unscrews. You might be able to get hookah-shisha to sell you an extra downstem and just cut that part off for when you want to use a diffuser, and have interchangeable downstems. lazria
hum, sounds like i need to write up an email to HS and see what's what?either that or get off my doff and work out a diffuser for a ball-end stem (which I should probably do as the other 2 surriving hookahs have them)

Mine smokes beautifully, my only complaint is that i need 2 get a new bowl cuz the one that came with it is too small. lol. I got a great deal from nazarhookah. you should hit him up.
