foil pattern for phunnel question.

Recommended Posts

i make one circle of holes around the edge of the bowl, and then make another circle of holes closer to the middle of the bowl, around the mod. and i get awesome results with this.

Approximately how many? I use about 12 with the spike that's on my tongs. It somehow always ends up looking like a Star of David... >.< Smoke isn't too thick (read: not blocking-out-the-sun thick as I want it), but the flavor's pretty good.

I use a toothpick starting at the edge and spiral in as close to the mod as I can get. semi small holes, lots of them. Normally this ends up with 2-3 circles, plenty of smoke and it's easy to get a pull. 3 coals on top in a triangle and I get huge puffy clouds everytime.

Here's what I do... you know those corn cob holder things that you stick in the end? Yellow things that have two metal spikes coming out of them... I just take that and poke a set of double holes around the out side and that's it. Works fine for me

Yeah I have a similar question. Just tried my new small phunnel with mod and the flavour was fine but I wasn't getting any thick smoke. Apart from the foil pattern how do you guys pack the tobacco. Do you place tobacco over the openings of the mod or not?

I heard that if you are using the funnel pack the shisha fully i.e don't be stinggy on the shisha. Well thats what i read about using the funnel with Tangiers. Try looking in the FAQ pinned section there a picture on how to pack with the funnel. Ihope this will help you. And i hope some one post a picture on how do they pack their bowls with a punnel with or without the mod. Cheers Have a nice session smile.gif

Hey Dizzy! that is a great idea! To use that corn on the cob thing ...

I was gonna say I do two circles, an inner and an outter with a toothpick. But after reading this tip from dizzy, I will be trying his method, kinda does the same effect, in half the time..which means more time to smoke hookah ... wink.gif

now i dont have the mod yet, so what i do is poke 2 rings(one on the edge and one in the center of the phunnel) then make a slightly larger hole over the hole.

Hey everyone,

We haven't used the phunnel bowls that much, but we've had success with this pattern using Tangiers. Create 2 rings, one closer to the edge and another about half an inch from the phunnel, poke about 30 holes on the outer circle, and 10-15 on the inner circle. Poke one small hole in the middle of the phunnel. Place (2) coals on opposite sides and rotate every so often.

We also spoke with Eric from Tangiers, he says he pokes about 100-120 holes in linear formation from the outer edges of the bowl inward, repeating this process around the bowl. We personally haven't tried his method yet, but we figure the guy who makes the bowls probably knows how to set them up too! wink.gif

Hope this Helps smile.gif
