Have Hookah, Will Travel!

Since I've been wanting to get a "portable" hookah to take out upon the town, I've been hunting around and finally managed to score a sweet deal on Ebay. Purple Mini hookah for $13.98 SHIPPED! Wow, can't beat that! The same hookah in town runs $39.99-49.99!

Got it in last night - wow, 16-17" purple mini hookah (chinese made). It didn't come w/ the hardcase as the auction stated, but everything else was there. Now I know why you all have said "don't diss the mini hookahs" - this thing smokes like a CHAMP! Lit up some Lay Coconut, went an hour before I gave up (it was 1am) - great smoke and no harshness.

I was really shocked how well this little bitty hookah smoked. I always was under the impression that the larger the hookah, the better the smoke. Well I now stand corrected. Appearently it's not the size of the hookah that dictates the quaility of the smoke, but how you use it/set it up. You learn something new all the time

Now I have my "travel" hookah - now to just find places open to allowing me to smoke while I dine/play/whatever.

nice one dude.. I have a black widow mini pumpkin hookah, and just liek yours it smokes like a champ.. but i find it smokes better with ice in the base then without

But otherwise hey congrats on the successful purchase. Still thinking about getting the engineer? If so i would contact Nazar, he actually sells the same hookahs at a little better price than H-S.

But my real question, how do you like the layalina coconut? I can't get mine to smoke well, and that's a shame because I bought a 250g tub. Mine tastes like cheap waxy lipstick and melted crayons.

Maybe I got a bad batch or it's old. Any tips for smoking it? I've tried it with both a reg. Egyptian bowl , the tangiers phunnel, the MN glass funnel, and all of it tastes like poo.

Yes, I'm still planning on the Engineer - although now "he" wants the Snake version since the Eng may tarnish (such a picky male he is ). Hum, well back to Nazar's to look around...

Anyways, I remarkably don't use any fancy bowl w/ Lay Coconut - standard bowl. The one that came w/ Opal is larger than my standard ones, so I lightly toss some in, then carefully tamp it down (so it's not touching the foil). Use 2 Silver tabs and let it cook for 2-4 min before dragging. It's perfect - thick smoke and sweet coco taste. Hum, makes me wonder if I shouldn't have just ordered a 250g tub myself. Maybe you got an old batch? (I came to the conclusion that I can only use certain bowls with certain types). Normally I use Layalina in the Tang Phunnel, but it always seems to burn faster, so I went back to my standard.

I bought a micro-hookah, that is just right for my bedside table. I can burn a bowl at night, prior to retiring. Does anyone else keep a small hookah for personal use?
