Ban On Online Tobacco Sales?

Recommended Posts

Today's Post has an article about a new study about banning tobacco in public places. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but there is a list of recommendations to cut tobacco use that has one item on it that scares me: ban online tobacco sales. The study has friends in congress or I'd say it's all just hot air. If online tobacco sales were banned in the US, it would really change my hookah experience--I've only bought tobacco online. Not used to the local bars and stores carrying the good stuff.

Well the issue is all the Left Wing idiots believe we as a people can not do anything. Therefore the government must do it all for us. So, in turn Socialized medicine must take effect because we as people are incapable of dealing with it ourselves.

Now in order to keep costs low when this occurs, they want to remove everything that is doing the most harm. Tobacco is their number 1 item. I will be curious about how long it will take for tobacco companies to put up a fight with the supreme court and claim its unconstitutional to put them out of business.

news 7 said tonight that smoking has decreased by 50%................................since 1964. rolleyes.gif

way to go with those stats.

We as citizens have more power than everyone thinks. I personally believe it is a stupid idea to ban online tobacco sales and I don't think they will do it. It is our choice to smoke or not. Those are good statistics too! wink.gif

Yeah, the Democrats run the show, some of them try to push their sick, warped agendas. I'm surprised they didn't combine Obama and H. Clinton and find a black woman to run for president. I don't object to Obama and H. Clinton, probably even vote for H. Clinton...at least she's a known quantity and moderate.

They are slightly better than the Republicans, on the other hand. The democrats try to push their ideas down the children's throats...the republicans just rob and rape the American citizens in the neo-conservative, big-business' best interests.

That being said, I don't think it will happen...it violates the constitution of the United States prohibiting the limitation or regulation of interstate trade. What this seems to be is the beginning of a viable platform to control the internet, the ability of us to communicate with each other unfettered is a great threat to the democrats and republicans. When newspapers went to shit, radio was hailed as a panacea for people to receive information uncensored. When radio went to shit, Television was hailed in the same way. Now that television has gone to shit, we have the internet...we're running out of new technologies here.

Whenever you read something like "We want to control internet sales of tobacco." always consider the original statement and also remove the object of the statement so it becomes "We want to control the internet." It would make sense that statements could have another agenda, but they would be imbedded in the actual proposition.
